What?? You have a bizarre way of seeing things. Impulse control is NOT what keeps most bad things from happening as normal people do not have that impulse in the first place. Never have I had the impulse to rob someone or kill them. It is certainly not my ability to control negative impulses that makes me a moral person, it is that I don't have the impulses in the first place. If you do then you should seek counseling because with people like you all it takes is just enough to break the dam.

not with deadly force that is more likely to be used against innocent people than prevent rape no.

carry pepper spray if you're worried about being raped, unless your rapist is on a ton of drugs this is going to be just as or even more effective than a gun, almost never lethal, can't be used to kill the victim, and is very unlikely to kill innocent people.

if the rapist in on enough drugs to ignore pepper spray a gun would very unlikely to stop him/her too.
not to mention those type of rapes are extremely rare.
