The good news is that if cycling is not for you you would not have lost much. Which is much better than having more money than good sense and spending thousands on a bike that just gathers dust in the garage.
If it means anything, I started with a used single speed Salvation Army bike. A lot of someones. Old school cycle computer brah:
1) How fast?
2) How far?
3) How long?
Although all the other stuff is great too. Its just more than I really need.Last edited by KRANE; 07-03-2015 at 10:55 AM.

Also if you do get more into it check out Craigslist, especially in NY/NJ there are a lot of bikes for sale from people who spent to much money and are sick of them taking up precious apartment space. I ride out of Jersey City up 9W to Piermont/Nyack and am working towards Bear Mountain and back.

Not sure what kind of bike that is in the OP pics, the front fork was most likely put on as part of a custom build, the front fork goes for about $1500 alone. A lot of bike companies are making black on black bikes, but you should never pick a road bike based on what it looks like. Has to be about fit/comfort and budget

Going to buy one of the following bikes by the end of next weekend:
Giant Roam 2 - €399.99
Giant roam 3 - €499.99
Specialized Sirrus - €429.99
Opinions on any of these? Obviously the Roam 2 is by far the cheapest, but my budget is about 500 euro. I really like the Specialized brand, but ultimately I'm probably going to end up buying whatever feels the most comfortable geometrically.**Sets the thermostat in my room to 69 so they know crew**

wait..why am i explaining myself.....no regrets
edit on a side note gonna need some clips and shoes, suggestions for clips? that arent super expensive?Last edited by jubjubrsx; 07-04-2015 at 02:22 PM.

^6^^66^^^ yep.
I got much stronger from riding my fixed gear (47x15). It taught me to stop cruising, and how to "pull up" on the pedals after the downstrokes - which helps A LOT with power especially on hills - made a HUGE difference as opposed to just pushing the pedal downward then repeat.Signature

The Secteur was my first road bike too. Repped. Loved that thing. Now I'm riding this:
Just moved to Orange County though and with all the hills I'm thinking of going back to a roadie. I used to ride a Cervelo RS so thinking of picking another one of those up, or I've always loved the Team Cannondale CAAD 10s.
