Hey
This has probably been asked before but I can see on the label on the Xtend that there is a warning that says it can cause cancer ;((( - Is this this really the case? If so I dunno whether to use my Xtend or not ;((((

Thanks emergency <3
Op there are no ingredients to worry about, it's just so that we can have one level and still sell the products in California, it's a compliance thing and you will eventually see all companies do this, it is on everything that's sold in California if it's compliant. Even mouse pads, and office chairs and and and...

In a previous thread, there is also a post from Mike McCandless explaining Prop 65, taking it seriously and saying that such labeling is not mandatory; only contingent on not meeting specified testing:

I'm not sure that the OP's concern can be so easily swept under the rug.

I don't understand this warming label. I mean, i'm sure its there to cover up their asses for sure, but there is no smoke without fire. You tell me that this is a label for supplements to be sold in California, ok i get it, but out of many supplements JUST A FEW have this warning...why?
Also, Mike McCandless , on his post here, http://forum.bodybuilding.com/showth...#post936519333 , he said:
To pass a Prop 65 test, the product must be under these levels:
a. Arsenic (As) = NMT 10 mcg/d
b. Cadmium (Cd) = NMT 4.1 mcg/d
c. Lead (Pb) = NMT 0.5 mcg/d
d. Mercury (Hg) = NMT 0.3 mcg/d
Xtend does, that's why we don't have to put a prop 65 warning on it. Our BCAA's are made specifically for us, we don't buy generic supplier material as it didn't meet our specs. As far as label claims, here are two independent tests. Product bought from bb.com, sent directly to chromadex and tested. With Xtend, you get what you pay for.Last edited by gmaister22; 05-02-2015 at 12:48 PM.

It could, yes, meaning that other BCAAs that don't have that label they use better coloring? Makes no-sense...if it was such a simple ingredient as coloring, they would have changed it right away...Also they could tell the world what is that ingredient, so we can know
i have been using xtend a lot, but never read that label (yes dumbish of me). now that i read about it i'm very skeptical about purchasing that again...since i it seems that there are many BCAAs out there that do not have that label, which according to the CEO of Scivation, is mandatory if the product doesn't pass the test...

On that old label we recommended up to 4 doses, at which point it crossed the threshold. At 1-2 servings it is fine. New label does not have the warning on it as we don't recommend a ton of servings.
Anything that comes from the ground violates prop 65. A lot of companies don't have it on their product for the same reason they don't follow other rules. There are blatant violators but is what it is. It is a California specific law that has no founding in science.
We use Xtend in cancer studies. We are the only bcaa that has NSF for sport and informed choice. Our quality is top notch.
It's my bday, so I'm done for awhile. Hope this answers any questions you guys have.I used to own things.
I get banned a lot for telling the truth.
