Seems like a good deal VabaX, the extra power reserve would come in handy, but I like the looks of the CW a lot more.

OK, finally resolved this bad purchase via eBay; TLDR story time below:
Caught a Daytona newly listed on eBay, 2006, black dial, listed for £5,000 ($7,500), box/papers and original receipt. I sent the seller a message requesting a pic of the original receipt and invoice, which he provided. I phoned the dealer the watch came from (dated 2013 so he bought it used) and gave the dealer the receipt number, he confirmed the watch came from them - this checked out fine. I then got the eBay seller to call me, he sounded legit, I asked all the right questions and nothing seemed to be off. I went ahead a bought it, paid through eBay and Paypal.
The next day I reversed image searched the pics and came across multiple listings online on a different selling website, a different phone number was listed as the sellers contact details. I used my brothers phone to contact this seller and he said he sold it a few days ago for £6,500... alarm bells start ringing.
To cut a long story short I ask the seller to cancel the order due to my concerns, he gives excuses, sends nothing, stops replying to messages and I open a case ASAP. He then doesn't reply to case and I have just received a refund.
Moral of the story: Reverse image search purchases and trust the 'if it's too good to be true' saying Definitely only going to buy high priced pieces of metal locally from now!
Feel pretty stupid as I am always pretty cautious but it's a learning curveCEO/10K a day - Pending

Oh lord, that sucks about the dust particle!
No grey dealers?! I couldn't get any discount on my 114060 whatsoever from the couple AD's we have here so the grey dealer offering £700 ($1060) off the RRP was a no brainer for me. Had the AD offered any sort of discount I would have used them thoughCEO/10K a day - Pending

Ordered a Mako Ray with blue casing.
Currently ordered one Khaki Nato.
Need one formal strap for it, will a leather suffice?
Thinking either deep wine red, dark blue, black or dark grey.
Thoughts?
The one which comes with the watch is a urethane strap that looks like a child's band.
(it's on massdrop atm - you can pick it up for 99 bucks. )

I think the black shield is a phenomenal bang for your buck watch with its ceramic case for under $4000 grey market, but it has never really sang to me.
I'm also trying to diversify the brands in my collection and already have a black bay. I like the ruggedness of the breitling as it's different from anything I've owned.S&P Crew

Greetings wristwatch crew!
Always liked watches, and this summer I want to step my watch game up a bit.
I only recently started learning and looking into the market and brands. Wearing a fashion watch atm ( it's a tw steel quartz, please no negs, I didn't know any better! ) which I wanna replace with a mechanical one. Will probably be willing to spend 1-1.5k euros-dollars tops.
So on to my questions:
- Is there a european store like jomashop ? I think I will probably be buying from a non-authorised dealer, since the prises seem to be much lower ( and I can't buy from usa due to customs - taxes ).
- Is a second - hand watch purchase worth having a look in that price range ? Will I be able to get something much better for my moneys worth ?
Cheers!***MISC Strength Crew***

Buying used is definitely an option. I've bought all my watches used. That way you get more bang for your buck (higher price segment of watches available than when you'd be buying new) and the watch will keep its value. You can get some pretty nice watches for your budget.
OT: I just bought - amongst a ton of other stuff - a quarter repeater chronograph. I can't wait till I get some of this action.
Video for educational purposes (not the watch I got, but a very similar quarter repeater chrono)

Protips:
- better pics. Don't hold the watch, put it on a table/surface so you can take good focused pics. The pictures are your n1 selling tool, together with price.
- price: 900 what? WUS is an international site. Make it $900 (and preferably incl CONUS shipping, that way you'll have an easier sale).
- where do you ship to? only CONUS, US, Americas, worldwide....? mention it.
- better title: Diver, blue dial, steel, automatic, reference number, 2012...
Best to use your best pic first.
Another OT: New development... I kinda went all out. Apart from the LC quarter repeater chrono and a couple of other pieces, I also bought a Lange and a Rolex. Total spendings on watches of the day €3.5k"Kabananga is believed to be the leader in penis-size to wealth ratio (ala crazy/hot scale) with 3 inches ahead of other prominent CEO's." ~ Time Magazine
