When someone argues that High Frequency programs are better for hypertrophy they make a delusional claim. If you train shoulders twice a week, your typical bro split will do the same and will allow you for more volume.
On the bro split you have your own shoulder days. You then do chest, surprise, you hit your shoulders again. You do back day, your shoulders work again.
Bro splits are far better, as volume is the crucial factor for HYPERTROPHY. You have to make potential effort to induce adaptation and anabolism, volume does it best

"Bro splits" are not that different from higher frequency

I think it's based more on each individual and what he or she thinks is best for them and their goals.
A pro bodybuilder like the past greats, such as Serge Nubret, will train for 5 hours a day, sometimes twice a day, so it would be different than another who just wants to put on a good amount of muscle.

"Bro splits are far better, as volume is the crucial factor for HYPERTROPHY."
You realise you can have the same volume using a routine which is not a bro split, right? For example a push/pull/legs routine
You can have the same volume on both. There s nothing that restricts you from doing that.
The problem with brosplits imo is that you tend to work your shoulders/triceps too much, not work legs enough, and probably not work back enough.
I m not saying that all bro splits are like this. But the typical bro split is.Brb hitting triceps/shoulders on 3 days/week while 1 of those days also includes isolation for those muscles. You can make it work. But most ppl creating their own bro split have no idea about volume, exercise selection etc.
PS:the routine posted above which you approve is not a bro split but a push pull legs routine.I see no arm, shoulder day. Typical push/pull/legs everything x2 per week.Last edited by Mounakis; 03-07-2015 at 02:58 PM.
