Whats with the misc fascination with walls? They are probably the least efficient defensive structure you can spend gold on.


One of my clans TH10s is still rocking pink walls but all his other defenses are upgraded and his defenses are surprisingly good.

I played this since when it first came out. I stopped before they added war. just installed it again a few weeks ago and holy chit, it's hard af now.
currently farming TH9. just lowered my trophies from 2.5k (where i left off) to 1.7k to practice attacking.
any tips?

aesthetics, at a certain point tho after everything is updated the only thing that you can improve on is walls.

What else am I going to spend loot on while waiting 10+ days for each upgrade to finish?

Majority of walls are purple crew, besides a moat of skulls and a few legos. A week and I'll have both infernos maxed. Never cared for walls and I rarely raid so upping walls would take too long.

On a real subject, TH9 war bases...



Trying to create a new war base that is difficult to two star. My current base has only been three starred once by a ridiculous Lavaloonian attack, so I'm good at holding them to two stars but it would be great if I could keep attacks to one star. Of course this assumes a well planned attack with decent troops, not poverty attacks.

I've noticed with Gowipe that the troops will head to the next closest building that has the path of least resistance. They won't always take the jump spell right away, especially if there are buildings in the open next to where they are. If they do take those close buildings and there are closer buildings next to those ones, they will keep following that.

I tried creating my own base just now that attempted to incorporate this theory.

It is not complete and I'm looking for suggestions before completing it.

As you can see I have 14 walls left to work with and all traps besides big bombs. The bottom doesn't have compartments in the hope that troops flow down it and avoid any possible jump spells placed early on. I have the walls come out next to the mortars as bluffs for double big bombs. I'm also banking on my heroes drawing them down those rows too since they can come out a decent bit from their platforms. Most of my storages are at the top to stall the attacks coming from the top, so I would line the bottom heavily with the collectors and mines, which have decent hitpoints.

The top obviously doesn't have long open rows but I feel the defense is tougher coming from that side. They could jump, but they'd jump into four teslas and four big bombs. I also have most of my storages up there to absorb damage.

So what do you guys think? Scrap it? Finish it? Make some changes?

Before I posted this, I finished the base, though somewhat hastily. Still looking for suggestions based on the incomplete version, but here is the finished base:

My theory I mentioned above about the open rows attracting troops was reinforced with one our member's attack on the base bellow:

First and foremost, his CC is difficult to lure. Big bonus. The second thing you'll notice is his lack of tight compartments. He has some, but most of the base is open and the path of least resistance is around the TH, not towards it. There are also many spots available for teslas and big bombs, adding difficulty in planning the attack, something I tried to do with my bluff spots, though I think this base is done a bit better in that regard.

Our member attacked from the south with Gowipe and the troops followed the ring once inside the outer perimeter. They did not go towards the TH at all, even with a well placed jump spell, since there were buildings right next to them, they took the path of least resistance.

I like this base too and may try it.

There are anti-gowipe bases, and most of them utilize having defenses outside the walls to distract golums and pekka. But the thing is if your even half decent at gowipe as a th9 you should be able to 2 star any th9 base or poorly set up th10. Gowipe is like a guaranteed 2 star unless you really really really phuck up. So if your base never gets 3 starred then that's about as good as it will get.

This is a good explanation. Everyone on the misc knows that walls are the lowest defense priority, but why not get to level 9 walls while your still th9 and have less of a loot penalty? Would rather deal with it now then at th10. Plus a th10 with less than lego walls just looks poverty imo.

I rarely use gems. I think I only have used em for my 5th builder, and to get my second inferno tower just because I wanted it so bad lol


I think using gems is a slippery slope. Once you start, then you'll start using em more and more and buying them $10 here, $10 there, and all of a sudden you spend $200 on some mobile game

Ive already done that. And I dont have a 5th builder. Even with regular boost sessions I dont raid enough to keep 5 builders busy 24/7.

Depends how much time you spend on the game really..but even when I played more I went early to th9 and ten for lab upgrades because I got everything I wanted way before defenses were done..also infernos are so OP that only a small percent of th9 can do anything

Did one raid today in cw. Haven't played in 2 days and don't miss it. Might be time for ebay. Besides all the cheating is wearing on me. I don't hang around it in console games and I sure as hell don't care for it in some low level application game. Other then that my goal was to simply max it and that was pretty much it.

It wasnt personal. I just want everyone to at least try and contribute equally. Eppy giving lissa a hard tine about making a lvl4 drag irks me. Only giving war troops to his gf did too. then cody comes right back in and gets elder. Im not saying i want to be yumad serious but def more serious than iv has been lately.

A clan is only as good as its leadership.....a leader holding a clan back that once had solid potential is unfortunate to see.
And you'll be glad to know that yumad has toned down significantly haha. Its amazing what being in a clan with no dead weight will do for a persons tone/behavior.
