Muscle plays a part, but strength is a lot about intra and inter muscular coordination. Strict bodybuilders isolate muscles, they don't code strength into their system.
Most bodybuilders always make fun of ego lifts, apparently scared of injuries, but I'd rather have quantifiable gains rather than masturbate to myself in the mirror.5'9.99" 165 lb

strong rustling.
somewhat agree with op. If you do powerlifting then i can respect that is a different game, and you guys are mostly humble. It's the guys that lift for aesthetics that think size = strength.
honestly go to a legit bodybuilding gym and look around, see for yourself if size correlates with strength. your body has no idea how much weight you're lifting, you can stimulate growth by time under tension, full range of motion, stretch and contract to create a pump allowing the fascia around the muscle to expand...
powerlifters goals are to life as heavy as humanely possible and they will take the risk of getting injured in the process, torn biceps etc.
guys that lift for aesthetics have no reason to take that risk. And there is nothing wrong with lifting to look good/get girls. we all wear nice clothes/cologne fresh haircuts, this is no different.Real eyes Realize Real lies.

care to elaborate?
I said time under tension meaning the rep range. I Didn't say anything about volume, so I don't know where you got that from but since you called me out, back it up.
what with the misc mentality, instead of having informative discussions to help each other, you call each other out like little kids.Real eyes Realize Real lies.

It's good to have a background in both but the workout changes once you focus on one or the other. BB is more about isolation and the pump. Only bodybuilders will do an exercise as useless as the shrug. PLers will take up to 5-10 minutes rest to avoid the pump, and lift near their max. Oly also lift near their max dozens of times per session
