Not really buying it. That's like me saying that some radiologists are more surgically skilled than some surgeons because they spend all day looking at anatomy. In the end, the guy who does a task on a regular basis is going to be better at it than the guy who doesn't. BTW, aren't you like 1 year out of residency? Strong hubris.
What I mean is, you're stuck looking at whatever the tech created for you. With 3D recon, I can twirl around the axis in the axial/sagittal/coronal plane and make whatever slice I want. I can window it in 3D to look at the soft tissues, vasculature, or bone. I can cut out parts of the anatomy that are blocking other things from view. I can make MIPs. None of this is available on a regular computer.I'm not sure what you mean by this. What do you mean by 3d reconstruction? You mention seeing sag/coronal reconstrucitons- I never look at a CT or MT without looking at all three planes. If you mean the 3d rotatable image, then I routinely get those when evaluating skeletal anatomy (esp facial fractures). If you mean that you get to work on nice, calibrated monitors, then yes, I'm sure there is some advantage there, although I'm not sure what or to what degree for the types of images I routinely look at.

Have had great experiences with parents on peds up until today. Mom wanted to stop their child's chemo in favor of treating the cancer with cheese.

Ugh, I hate having carry ons b/c I'm usually later to board = no overhead bin space. Especially since flights to/from Hawaii are always completely full.
Just gonna do what I've been doing with my sh*tty suit (trying to take extra care with this new suit) and wear it while flying, except I'll take my jacket off instead of wearing it while sitting the entire flight time

Great advice. I had the pain of flying to 10 interviews. Your suit is going to get wrinkly no matter how you pack it. There are several pretty good methods that I liked and did pretty good job. In the end, though, you are going to have to run up the hotel's water bill. I always steamed my suit by a hot shower for 30 minutes. Works like magic.
I read about your gyno too, Im sorry
I had a friend get surgery over some bitch tits cuz he didnt want ehm

The parent's main issue was that the kid has had a lot of side effects from chemo and looks fine when they aren't on chemo (they're in remission, but they're just at start of consolidation, so they're early in the chemo process). Feels like leaving it to god would be the right move, doesn't accept the ridiculously high relapse rate off chemo. Looked some stuff up, supposedly found or was given some articles (supposedly endorsed by a doctor) that showed you could treat cancer with home remedies (cheese was the most ridiculous on the list, but there were 2 or 3 others). Doctor just tried to explain the relapse rate off chemo, how it could be god's will that brought them to receive chemo, how non-oncologists aren't the specialist on cancer treatment, and invited them to bring the articles in to review the content.
I'm just glad I was wearing a mask in the room. Saw the "why do we need chemo" discussion coming on, but thought it was going to be just "leaving it to god" as the alternative. Almost lost it when they said cheese, caught me off guard. Bert stared the chit out of them

Srs though brahs, if you put your suit in a garment bag the stewardess will hang it in the front of the plane if you ask. There is a a closet where they put the crew's luggage etc. right inside the door usually and there is a rack up there where you can hang it. I've done this on multiple trips recently and there's usually 5-6 garment bags in there from other passengers. They know you don't want to stuff your $xxx.xx suit in the overhead. No need to wear it.

I think it's more a characteristic of the person as opposed to the profession. There are a lot of really great nurses that I have worked with who were great and hardworking people, but there are also a lot of ****ty nurses that I worked with who were lazy and people I wouldn't want to associate with outside of work.
I will be the best

Yup. I didn't watch it but I read a "counter" article that glossed over what it covered.
http://www.forbes.com/sites/matthewh...t-cancer-care/
From what it seems, looks like the 60 Minutes episode really did give out good solid info for the general population. The counter article kind of takes away some of the thunder from the episode though by pointing out the business side to Dr. Pat and that his ideas really aren't that sensational/groundbreaking (e.g. cancer = suppression of cell death and not uncontrolled growth... my research abstract title includes the phrase "suppression of cell death" and im just a ******* undergrad).
Validity and truth on both sides though. I'd say I'm neutral/impartial on the whole thing though. Just gotta see where it goes. If I didn't have so many papers to catch up on (been putting them off for a few weeks) I would watch it asap.Last edited by WeekndOrNah; 12-08-2014 at 01:59 PM.

It's not but I doubt many of 60 Minutes' viewers know that.
I think they tried to add to the groundbreaking factor by trying to make a huge deal of the money he's put into fancy new technology / DNA sequencers, while failing to mention possible ulterior business motives and that the DNA Sequencing claims are misleading (and they aren't even fully set up yet).
and keto diet is GOAT for cutting. Did it a few times for BJJ tournys and would refeed by getting drunk as fuk on a weekend night, so much more mental clarity and no dropoff in workout intensity/strength at all
