Most of my cars have been manual transmission vehicles. There are very few reasons to choose a manual transmission over automatics today.
Most of today's automatic transmissions hold up very well, get better MPG, and are much simpler to drive. The only leg up manual transmissions have now is the fun factor, if you are into that, and they do tend to hold up a little better, especially if you drive a truck which does a lot of hauling.

Kind of this....a lot of euro cars have like 70HP. The car with auto......trying to pass and waiting for the transmission to down shift, etc. means you're probably gonna take 10 years to pass anyone. In the US even the slowest cars have like 130HP+ so most people don't need to squeeze that last bit of performance out of a small engine just to pass someone. Hell, there is plenty of 300hp+ cars in the US.
With that said, I drive a 300HP car with manualAesthetic Glutes Crew

Europeans and South Americans also drive extremely chitty little cars. Perhaps people from 'Merica should drive some chitty little manual car too?
At the end of the day a modern automatic is faster, gets better fuel millage, performs/handles better, etc. The ONLY reason to drive a manual in a modern car in America is if 1. You think its cool, or 2. You needed a cheap/plain option vehicle.
I'll probably never own a manual transmission save if I get a Jeep for 4x4ing.
This LMAO.

What about us that have the slap-****s on the steering wheel for manual shifting, if we choose to do so? Have this on my SUV too *shivers*
What then? Best of both worlds, while hands always remain on the wheel?
Or is this a 'if you don't have a foot clutch and have to use an entire hand off the wheel to shift, it doesn't count' manual-only thing?

Makes more sense to own a manual if you live in an area with a lot of open road with very rare traffic, but if you live in the city, automatic is a much better choice. Also, manuals get slightly worse MPG than an automatic.

Because Americans want to be able to do other stuff while driving, like texting, eating, and killing people because they don't have to pay attention.
Also, traffic sucks in a manual. I drive a motorcycle, which means manual. My whole ride home from work is constant up, down, up, down, shifting. It's annoying.I am a sculptor. Not of wood, stone, or clay, but of flesh.

Houston TX at rush hour, so my car works here, but in U.S we have so much congestion, dumb ****s on the roads that having to clutch in+ out every other fn minute is super lame, also Pickup trucks are a main staple of our vehicals and have you ever seen the shifter on one of thoes if its manual? its about 2 ft long... no thanks jeffery
