I just started swimming again and it's been pretty hard, but can feel the benefits. Running sucks, especially when it's windy.

that was my suspicion.
knees shot, ankle sprained hiking in CO, so far t25 has been only moderately painful a couple times for those. can 'jog' (won't say run), elliptical. kickboxing is actually one of the best workouts i'm getting with least joint pain. doesn't even seem to bother shoulder so far. swimming is good until the shoulder gives up the ghost.Axe, author of "No Limits - No Regrets"

I love that feeling. It goes away after the first set.
I feel like running would be the most useful cardio so I want to do it but I can't get myself to do it. I'm as big as I need to be and I just want to get strong and fast now. I have no real reason but I feel like strength and speed would be most beneficial in the long run. I just don't know how to train for that.

Morning crew, can't get going this morning. Stayed up watching ESPN too long after that UK game last night.

I went and watched them play last Friday against Grand Canyon and thought they played pretty good, but last night the way they played against Kansas was just crazy.
Same here, at the time I was trying to cut down on some body fat but even now at 190 where I'm currently at I'm still not as low of a BF% as I want to be. Think I'm gonna have to go on about a solid 2 year bulk and put on quite a bit of mass. Or I could just do crossfit.....

I'm as big as I want to be but not as lean. I feel like I switch to only strength training without hypertrophy, I'll lose minimal if any size and by running, and other forms of cardio, I should be able to get very lean. I wouldn't care if I was only 180 lbs if I was shredded and I could be as athletic as I was 10 years ago.

I'm guessing there's either niacin or cayenne pepper extract in there.
There's a certain age for certain people where sprinting just becomes a liability for injury, especially in the winter.
Best cardio IMO, is low impact kind that you can do on a regular basis and minimize joint stress/wear. Such as:
- Car pushes or pulls
- Farmer walks
- High rep squatting
- Cycling
- Rowing
Although not "low impact" heavy bag training is pretty good cardio too if done occasionally.Last edited by Igmann; 11-19-2014 at 06:59 AM.

after heart surgery, i got way better cardio improvements doing interval work (run 30, walk 30) than trying to jog to another town or worse yet, get on a bike without a motor. to me it's way more efficient and i get better results in cardio and fat burning to do interval runs, swimming, kickboxing. i guess theoretically if you're lifting a certain way, that could even be 'cardio'.
