isthisreallife.jpg 1/4 of the bar already filled in less than 30s
3-minute 4-man Barb T6 with one guy using cold (aka pretty bad DP$).
Did about 15 rifts end to end in an hour with these guys.
Best way to level / get legs right now. Better than GR. Even better if you don't close after Orek (minimizes the % of time in town waiting for 30 second ceremony).
Barb is so fn fun right now. I've never had more fun now that all the kits/gems/gear are figured out .
Build I used:
LM - Rend (Bloodbath)
RM - Whirlwind (Dust Devils)
1 - Sprint (Run like the wind)
2 - War Cry Impunity
3 - Battle Rage - Into the Fray
4 - COTA - Ancients Fury
Passives : Ruthless, Unforgiving, Rampage, Bloodthirst
Gems: Pain Enhancer (key to the build), Efficacious Toxin, Bane of the Powerful.
Set bonuses: IK 4-piece, Aughild 3-piece through RORG
Elite Gear: Hexing Pants of Mr. Yan, Trifecta Taskers
Attainable Gear: Heart Slaughter pole-arm. Can use Furnace or Stalgard's also.
Pants can be replaced with Pox Faulds and Taskers can be replaced with Shrine Gloves for the poverty version.
Recorder of video (Baconinja) dropped RORG and Rend for Ring of Larceny (semi GG gear) and Threatening Shout (fear), and dropped Aughilds for any leg shoulder and Warzechian Armguards to hit ludicrous speeds.
Bulk : If you are out there reading, WW/RLTW is back (!!!). Somewhat. Look at the video.

I gotta say.. Barb is really fun. Ran with Samir and 2 other barbs last night and I don't think any other class could come close to the speed of Barbs when it comes to rifts. You don't even need GG gears, running in groups Barbs compliments each other really well. You just gotta learn to keep up lol.

Firebird Blizzard/APocalypse/Hydra Wiz would be a good addition to this group. With High CDR and Occulus off-hand (teleporting like crazy).
Demon Hunters actually slow us down because by the time a 2nd sentry is out, everything is dead anyways or near dying, and T6 RG's aren't an issue.Maybe a strafe or a rain of vengeance build could keep up?
Monks are somewhat fine too but Sunwuko just doesn't AoE enough to really clear out a room in 2 seconds. WW literally puts the whole screen on bleed and Raekor clears thick rooms in 2 charges.
Correction to post I made earlier: Closing after RG, not Orek. Please read this: http://www.jimwendler.com/2011/09/time-to-man-up/

Samir is that physical WW build viable for high grifts? Saw a big thread on that in the barb forums.
Furnace would be too slow of a weapon for WW right?
Also... the only reason to use +fire% damage and Mirinae is if you use frenzy right? Most barbs use together as one for high grifts so +fire% wouldn't really effect CotA.

Lots of barb talk in here...
What are the stat priorities on charge barbs? Been getting a good amount of Barb gear on my sader as well as jewelry, might try and mess around with him if the gear is good. What is the elemental damage I need? Skill damage? What stats should I be looking for?4% shredded with striated!

I didnt leave, just scaling back a bit relax. I'm too casual to go to one of those leet clans. I've played with 20 of those guys and they say all this crap that just makes me cringe "We need to vote kick people who are not pulling their weight". I thought it was isolated but every single time I roll with SM or Dragon I get a bad impression.

Two classical builds are fire barb low CDR high DMG and Fire Barb high CDR high elite dmg.
1. Maximus, Chilanik's Chain, Vile Charge, Unity, Stone of Jordan. 37.33% CDR
2. Furnace, Pride of Cassius, VIle Charge, Unity, Ring of Royal Grandeur, Leoric's Crown. 50% CDR
Gems: Mirinae (Frenzy), Gogok, Bane of the Trapped
Reason for fire focus : Call of the Ancients / The Council Rises is great burst of single target damage for elite.
SKills: Frenzy (Maniac), Furious Charge (Battering Ram), Ignore Pain (Ignorance is Bliss)/ War Cry (Impunity), Call of the Ancients (The Council Rises), Battle Rage (Bloodshed), Wrath of the Berzerker (Insanity / Striding Giant for higher GRs)
Passives: Superstition / Tough as Nails, Boon of Bul Kathos, Ruthless, Rampage
After than, in group play many people spec physical and physical has cleared 37 solo that I know of. They delegate single target damage to group members and drop Frenzy / Fire Call of the Ancients for Sprint / War Cry or Ignore Pain. The reason is in groups you don't get unity you spec a survival skill and you use sprint / run like the wind to spread dots. Also, Battle Rage Bloodshed benefits from physical damage which makes phys charge the absolute uncontested AoE king in the game. Basically since Single target is weak you focus on what Barb is best at (AoE damage).
Furnace build works from above, but many guys will run Heart Slaughter with +30% phys damage.
Skills: Call of the Ancients (The Council Rises), Furious Charge (Stamina), Sprint (Run like the wind), Ignore Pain (Iron Hide), , Battle Rage (Bloodshed), Wrath of the Berzerker (Insanity / Striding Giant for higher GRs)
Gems: Bane of the Trapped, Pain Enhancer, Gogok of Swiftness / Efficacious Toxin
Those are the 2 main builds.
But you can use any element since, really, Fire and Phys are the best. Some guys have done 40+ with cold and lightning using Fire Ancients. Please read this: http://www.jimwendler.com/2011/09/time-to-man-up/

Thank you sir. I have a lot of stuff sitting in my inventory that will make starting a barb at some point way less painful. Fire SOJ, Good Heart Slaughter, Furnace, a GG Maximus, got the set shoulders with 15% Furious Charge on them and some CDR plus a few other set peices..... all found with my sader.
Depends on what class you are rocking and all your gear. My season sader had been stuck around 1 mil sheet *** for a really long time and I was still able to do solo speed clears of T6 in about 4-5 minutes.4% shredded with striated!

Ain't about sheep (that much) anymore bro.
I cleared GR35 in 10:00 with 724k sheet Deeps.
It's about unsheeted synergies and builds that make sense.
ex: Physical whirlwind usually runs around 1m sheet, but effectively 30m due to Pain Enhancer and Efficacious Toxin gems.
ex: Raekor runs around 850k but effectively more varies from 850k to 500m - 1bn in density due to Vile Ward multiplier and Battle Rage + Bloodshed.
Para 400 is like 200 now. But its fine, look at the WW video above - a good set-up can clear T6 in no time. Without hexing pants and taskers for ancients + ancients fury might be near 7:00 or so, but that's still great XP.
Vile Agenda went from 50 to 450 in like 3 weeks.
Im playing a lot less these days (too much RL stuff going on), so get on and catch up ... I'm only 289 paragon levels away
(I remember when I was P100 and Mantis was P335....)Please read this: http://www.jimwendler.com/2011/09/time-to-man-up/

Well back to the drawing board i suppose.
Mantis didn't have a life - dude ran occulus rifts for gold literally 100x a day.
Gems i know nothing of, probably the sole department where im set back.Personal bests (all 4 lifts in a single session):

It's not that hard. You have most of the gear needed for a workable WW build or a Raekor build.
- Forget dual wield and high IAS builds. The IAS party, it's over. 30% buff to base damage on one-handers is just too much.
- Since you like Whirlwind, play the Whirlwind build. Bounties get you rift keys, rift keys get you trials keys, trials keys assign you a difficulty. Each time you do a greater rift, you get a legendary gem that you don't have access too. After 15-20 greater rifts, you'll have every gem. Greater rifts are also used to level gems.
- Run this build and these gems:
http://us.battle.net/d3/en/profile/S.../hero/46373999
Your damage comes from damage over time - bleeds from Rend, Pain Enhancer and Toxin gem. These are like Rend : Mainhand damage only, not affected by attack speed. Whirlwind Dust Devils and Run Like the Wind Tornados and COTA all need to hit for Toxin gem and all need to CRIT HIT for Enhancer and refresh themselves every now and then. Basically you are just spreading mega-bleeds over the map while your fury is sustained by the rune Ancients's Fury and Unforgiving (passive). The video I posted above shows it in action. It's actually even better than vanilla Sprint WW because the ancients are always out and actually give you good single target damage too. When they all attack the same target it's amazing. The only cockblock is when they die. But if you spec enough toughness that won't happen until GR33 or so. If you absolutely insist on running Dual Wield, Sunkeeper and Doombringer are the best choice but it will kill your dots and the extra attack speed won't make a difference since everything is already bleeding.
Raekor is all about Vile War + Battle Rage + Bloodshed and I described it in detail above.
The other set that Barbs have is the EQ set, I'm not that into it for 2.1. Raekor has massivE AoE, WW has massive fluidity and Leap has good mobility (Leap works now so you can jump over walls, it's on steroids) but its slow and it lacks burst.
Raekor:
Fire (COTA burst), Physical (bloodshed)
WW:
Physical (Enhancer, ancient's fury, rend, etc.)
EQ:
Cold (crowd control), Fire (damage), Physical (crowd control and damage)
Lightning is on the back burner for now.Last edited by samir316; 10-30-2014 at 01:10 PM.
