Thursday I went to Chris's for my second workout of the day. We did heavy legs (well heavy to me anyways).
Morning Crossfit WOD
75 power snatches at 55lbs for time (something like 8:30, but who cares)
1 mile run
Afternoon with Chris - Legs
Back Squat
75x5
95x5
115x5
135x10
155x10 - definitely new rep PRs here
155x10
Good mornings
3x10x60/80/80 - new weight PR
step ups
3x16x50lb bulgarian bag
50/10, 40/20, 30/30, 20/40, 10/50 of
KB swings (44lb)
situps
time: 15:30
This was brutal considering all the work I had done throughout the day. And It's the heaviest dumbbell I used.
Needless to say I damn near ate my entire refrigerator. lol. Since starting crossfit, my appetite has increased noticeably. I am just kind of going with it right now. Not going crazy, but not getting upset if the numbers don't line up. Uniform is fitting fine, so that's all that matters right now.

not feeling so hot the last couple of days. Work week was crazy busy so eating was sporadic and not great. Trying to regain composure on the meals.

Still going to crossfit. Did some decent workouts this week, and was humbled yesterday on hand release pushups. Can't feel my arms now. ugh. I hated those in the academy and the feeling hasn't changed. Did two-a-days with Chris Thur/Fri. So, yeah I didn't make today's workout, but I'm ok with that.
Diet is meh. Giving myself til Oct 1 to not really care (not gorge) just not care about the diet so much. It's been kind of nice not having to think about it all that much. But, come Oct 1, I'm buckling down and seeing what I can get off in a month to 6 weeks."There's something about a heavy weight that makes a body not want to get under it. Don't you wish there was a build in digital counter on your arm that added cals and macros? And one that told me at what pee % capacity I was at so I knew exactly how long I could make it, heehee. Srs though, c'mon Apple, step it the fuk up!

Tadah! I finally decided to give deadlifting a try today, and I was more than ecstatic with the results. I feel good. Just hoping my back doesn't swell up on me overnight. fingers crossed. But, regardless I will celebrate while I can.
3 Deadlifts | 110 lbs
3 Deadlifts | 132 lbs
3 Deadlifts | 154 lbs
3 Deadlifts | 176 lbs
2 Deadlifts | 198 lbs
2 Deadlifts | 220 lbs
2 Deadlifts | 242 lbs
1 Deadlift | 264 lbs
1 Deadlift | 286 lbs
1 Deadlift | 302 lbs
The last time I did 300 was about 3 years ago. I was 40 pound heavier, wore wrist straps for grip and did it with a hitch. Not this time. Mixed grip and no hitch. I told Chris not to tell me the weights until the very end. They were kg plates, so I just went with color and then figured it up at the end. I knew what my last lift was going to be.

well, I've still been working out, just haven't been on here much lately. Still working out at my police crossfit place. My cardio has improved. I can do overhead squats to depth now (not heavy, but that's ok), and I'm getting better at my lat strength. Bad thing is my eating has pretty much gotten out of hand, so I really can't reap the aesthetic benefits of all of the above. My strength is still good. So good in fact that I just did this today:
Split Jerk
worked up to
170x1
170x2 - BAM!
Then dropped it back down to 135lbs and did
2 push press
2 push jerk
2 split jerk
That was tiring.
then 3 sets of 10 of ring rows - pretty darn close to parallel.
Going to really work on getting my diet back on track. Would really like to look as good as I feel."There's something about a heavy weight that makes a body not want to get under it. Whoa! That was a long time between posts. I am slacking in here. I feel kind of bad posting my crossfit workouts in here, namely because they aren't very impressive. I am still new at it, so hitting PR's is not happening right now. Oh well.
I went to jjeane's farm last week and it was a blast. I love going there it is so pretty. And, of course, the hospitality is awesome! Did some lifting there, but my back was pretty out of it, so I let jjeane show me up. haha. No, really, she is rocking it these days.

alright already!!! sheesh ;-)
so yes, i have improved in my overhead squat and depth. WAy better than last time I tried this. As you can see, not the greatest form on any of it really. I'm watching it again, and I am super slow. Oh, and of course I'm fatter now.
Good news is I got food poisoning last night so I should be able to shed a few pounds today and tomorrow. :-)"There's something about a heavy weight that makes a body not want to get under it. So, I think I am about 95% back to health after the food poisoning. farts can still not be trusted. eating bland foods for now.
Went to my old gym today just to get in some cardio. I miss going there. Everyone said they missed me too. Obviously made me feel pretty special. The front desk girl who I talk to all the time said she thinks I have lost some weight, when in fact I have not. She hasn't seen me in two months. Plus, I liked getting up and going to the gym on my time instead of having to wait a couple of hours for the 11:30 crossfit class. But, on the other hand, I like the crossfit class because I can't get away with quitting or giving up just because I want to. Somebody is always watching me and the intensity is higher. I might try and see if I can blend the two somehow.
Still working on getting the diet in order. No real complicated issue here, just a matter of buckling down and making it a priority and being consistent with it. Maybe some day soon it will hit me upside the head."There's something about a heavy weight that makes a body not want to get under it. Hiya P!!!!!!!!
So, I got back to my regular gym. I am still going to go to crossfit, but only on Wed/Sat. I missed my old gym, but mainly my daily schedule changed with crossfit, and I really don't think it was for the better, because I was always rushed for lunch and usually that ended me meaning I grabbed crappy food and didn't prep my meals, because I didn't have time. Going to try out the new schedule this week and see what happens.
Today's weight: 231. I have stayed between 230-232 for the past two months. Not good, not bad. But, we need that to go way down. Back to tracking foods.
Push Press
45x5
75x5
95x5
135x5
145x5
145x5
Assisted Pullups -pin at 130
superset with
seated DP shoulder press - 30s
3x10
tricep pressdown - 55
superset with
ez bar cable curl - 55
3x12
5 minutes on the stair master - level 3
15 minutes on treadmill - random program - 3.5 speed
I bought the new iPhone 6 when it came out and haven't been to the regular gym since then. Went to best buy to buy an iPod touch for music, cause the 6 is too big for wearing on the arm. iPod touch didn't work real well since I had no wi-fi connection. The gym is not nearly as fun without music that's for damn sure. Taking it back and just getting an iPod shuffle. Have had those before. No pandora, but at least I will have music."There's something about a heavy weight that makes a body not want to get under it. Giant push press of mutha fukin peace!
I've heard about the 6 being HYOGE. I still have a 4 srs, it is slow, and dented, and has a huge scratch on the front where I landed on it with it in my shirt pocket one time. Not sure what the purpose of making the 6 so big is since we have tablets now if you need the big screen. Would be pissed if I couldn't stick my phone in my pockets easily, never thought about the PITA it'd be to use at the gym. No music at gym sucks, then you gotta listen to strangers' grunts and farts.Current PRs:

I will definitely be going bigger than the 6.
I finally bought some lifting shoes.
Then I went and squatted in them. It was definitely different and my squats weren't the best. It will take some getting used to, but I think it will be for the better.

They are a little narrow, which is why I have never owned a pair of nike shoes, but they fit pretty well, honestly. I do believe the heel will be high enough. I was brining my ass up before anything else yesterday. Chris said I just have weak quads (not trying to be mean) but they will catch up after a while of wearing the shoes.
So, I'm going on a date tonight. I have gone a couple, but nothing has ever panned out. This guy is really cute in his pictures (met him online. Yes, it is possible). This is the date I have probably been the most excited about. He is cooking dinner at his place, and I am supposed to bring dessert. Yikes! One of my squad mates suggested baking sugar cookies and decorating them together. So that is plan A. plan B will be an oreo poke cake that I am going to make this afternoon, courtesy of pintrest. Fingers crossed it goes well.
That being said I did a good amount of cardio the past two days. lol.
