Yes there was. He was born in 1955. Jordan began calling their occupied territories West Bank(as in west of the bank)
The name West Bank is a translation of the Arabic term ad-Daffa al-gharbiya,[12] given to the territory west of the Jordan River that fell, in 1948, under occupation and administration by Jordan, which claimed subsequently to have annexed it in 1950.[13] The term was chosen to differentiate the west bank of the River Jordan from the "East Bank" of this river.
The Resolution designated the territory described as "the hill country of Samaria and Judea" (including what is now known as the "West Bank") as part of the proposed Arab state, but following the 1948 Arab-Israeli War this area was captured by Transjordan (renamed Jordan two years after independence in 1946). "West Bank" or "Cisjordan" became the name for the area west of the Jordan River, as "East Bank" or "Transjordan" designated the area east of the river.
As I said in my previous post, Jordan unlike Egypt did not want to give up their respective occupied territories en route to establishing a Palestinian state. That is why unlike Egypt they gave people living in the occupied territories citizenship.Last edited by PSUbrah; 09-17-2014 at 06:49 AM.

"Nice try. Negged."
They belonged to anybody. The occupation were illegal. Only Britain recognized Jordan's occupation. And Egypt made it clear they were only temporarily occupying Gaza..

Look, I've actually been to Israel (not Jewish), had the chance to spend some time there so I've formed some opinions. I'm all for the Pal's having a homeland, preferably made up of the West Bank and Gaza. But until the Pal's (including Hamas) agree to Israel's right to exist and embrace peace instead of war, none of these other issues really matter. The history, the borders, the past wars, none of it. Both Israel and the Pal's have to want peace and respect each others security needs.
Secondly, Arabs need to be able to live freely in Israel (as they do now) and Jews need to be able to live freely in a Palestinian state.
Basically, there needs to be a cultural change for this to take place.

09-17-2014, 11:43 AM #2647Why does Obama put up for humiliation for Israel?
"The situation is clearly not in American interests"And David said, "The Lord who delivered me from the paw of the lion and from the paw of the bear, He will deliver me from the hand of this Philistine." And Saul said to David, "Go, and may the Lord be with you." (1 Samuel 17:37)
Thus David prevailed over the Philistine with a sling and a stone, and he struck the Philistine and killed him; but there was no sword in David’s hand. (1 Samuel 17:50)

Looking forward to see the mental gymnastics on this one, don't hurt yourself fellas
Israel is set to allow housing communities to discriminate on race, among a bunch of other also insane things
The Israeli Supreme Court Wednesday dismissed various petitions against the Admissions Committees Law, which allows admissions committees in hundreds of communities in Israel to reject housing applicants based on their “social suitability.”No war but class war

Tu quoque (/tuːˈkwoʊkwiː/;[1] Latin for "you, too" or "you, also") or the appeal to hypocrisy is an informal logical fallacy that intends to discredit the opponent's position by asserting the opponent's failure to act consistently in accordance with that position. It attempts to show that a criticism or objection applies equally to the person making it. This attempts to dismiss opponent's position based on criticism of the opponent's inconsistency and not the position presented.

Spare me the pseudo intelligentsia you're full of **** and you're an anti Semite. Why else would you neg me with the comment "Jew". You know damn well that Israel is the safest place for Jews, Christians and Arabs in the Middle East yet yep ironically you have this irrational hate for Israel. **** it, as far as I'm concerned Israel just needs to annex Gaza and the West Bank, for the better.
I feel disgusted people like you are allowed in our country.

How many mosques are there in Isreal?
How many synagogues are there in Saudi Arabia, UAE, Iraq, Syria, Iran, Libya, Egypt, Tunisa, Yemen, Afganistan, Pakistan and Algeria combined?
Spare us the discrimination argument.

There are indeed churches in Palestine and there are indeed synagogues in the occupied territories.
