275x3
315x2
345x1

400x1 Fail (Just couldn't get back into it after failing)
275 5x3
lol
Now for more lols
Aug 10, 2014: Deadlift day
Off 3" blocks
135x5
225x3
315x3
405x2
455x1
495x1
530x1 (RPE 8, Broke the floor fast, and accelerated well, quite easy)
555x1 Fail (Broke the floor, got to knees, quit)
Notes: Ok there is some explaining to do here...
Bench:
I felt so much better on this day than the week prior when I tested. I had been dropping carbs all week this week but for some reason everything moved great. So I worked up to 375 and it went so well I thought it would be stupid not to give myself a chance to hit 400. Well after some technical issues I missed the lift, then missed it again. Ok whatever... it happens. Failed once this week now... should probably not fail again..
cue the deadlift day..
Deadlifts:
Made my own 3" and 6" blocks to pull from. Decided today I would test them out. Also figured that since I didn't test deadlifts last week that I should work up to something heavy this week. Everything was going good. Got to 530, pulled it, felt really good. I was thinking jeez maybe I have a 600lb block pull in me today. Lets see. Ill jump to 555. Shouldn't be tough, pulled 551 in comp. Try it ... fail. Very strange. Didn't even approach to the bar like there was a chance I could miss it. In my head I was like ok just pull this then maybe try 6 plates... lol..no.
I was gunna try again, and I think I would have pulled it but I just didn't see the point. No sense destroying myself more than I already have these past 3 days.
As for excuses, I think I am honestly stronger off the floor then from blocks. Dead serious. I can't seem to activate my hamstrings (which are my strongest muscle in my body, I can literally SLDL my max) which is a problem. Really is hard to explain why I would miss this lift but I did and its over now.
My next 8 week training cycle starts monday and its VERY ambitious. Possibly more fails to come. This time around I will actually be training my deadlift at more than 70%. The bench will be the toughest as I continue to drop carbs but Ill just have to grind it out.
Anyways, huge fails. Sad. Mad. Confused. But be sure of one thing...
I will go to Westerns and kill that deadlift if its the last thing I do.

This past Friday Sept. 5, I did 300 for 7x5... will put that up on vid. However I started feeling sick earlier in the day and by Saturday I was full blown sick (cold). Will update when I get better. This may throw a kink into the training cycle depending on how long it takes to fully recover.
The weights in the Intense cycle will be extremely hard when Im 100% so being 80% won't cut it.

Bw is currently around 233-234lbs at 2.5weeks out from meet so Im perfectly on track. Just a matter of grinding through some tough sessions and executing.
Then yeah I made this in a couple hours after classes the other day. Always loved to play guitar, but kinda fell on the back burner. Lots of fun to play the Canadian National Anthem.

Since the meet I haven't ran a "real" set program. Its all add weight to the bar everyday while I gain weight.
So Tues. Oct 7:
Bench:
300 3x3 3 sec pause
275 8,7 tng.... literally couldn't do another one... it was a sad day, but still super drained from the meet so it made sense... and was obviously dumb to train.
Oct. 8:
Don't honestly remember, but I think it was
Sumo up to 495 with a belt.. very easy.
Conv up to 435x5 with a belt.. also very easy.
Pause squats up to 365x3 with a belt.. again, ^^
Oct. 11:
Bench 295 5x5.. not particularly easy
Oct. 12:
Not sure lol
oct 14:
Bench 300 5x5 - easier... shoulder started really bugging me. Also when I started getting numbing sensations in hands and feet.
Oct 16:
Beltless/sleevless pause squats up to 375x3.. easy peasy
couldn't do sumo cause of hip aggrevation.
Oct. 18
Bench 305 4x5, plus set of 7.. missed 8th rep. After Nationals at this point my bench was 295 4x5, 6 on plus set. So theoretically, my bench has gone up about 20lbs which checks out.
Essentially, once Im back to my normal weight (close to 240lbs) I should be 20lbs stronger than when I peaked back at the end of august, which was 390lbs... looking to hit that 405lb bench in other words.
Finished off todays workout with floor press up to 275lbs for 2x8. First time with this movement.
