I have to tell you this "alpha" "beta" thing is just sad. Anyone who even talks about that stuff is 99.99% likely to be "beta", and to be honest the second you sign up to a place like this and start using it you probably can't call yourself an alpha male. I remember the kids that used to lift and get girls in my school days, they wouldnt have dreamed of coming to a place like this.

I really don't understand anymore. It's clearly been established between all of our communities that the misc section of bodybuilding is a forever alone hangout and is open to anyone (even non-lifters). If you want to talk about lifting all day why don't you go on the lifting sections of this forum where I assure you none of us visit or have any interest in? Or better yet why don't you join another forum which is just for bodybuilding and is smaller so people like us won't have any interest in joining? There are plenty of large lifting forums out there which have absolutely 0 reddit/4chan/FA presence.

The amount of rep trading going on in those other sections is absurd. For example "Google maps said turn left" in the Exercise section. All off topic (what does Google Maps have to do with Exercises?) and all users have tens of thousands of reps. The thread is now at 155 pages and is allowed to stay.

I asked in there what does RANT stand for, Rep and Neg Trading? Got a few hundred reps taken off lol. Rep trading isn't allowed by the way.

I think because recently lifting became way too popular and the typical friendless loser geeks got into it thinking it will suddenly make their life 100% awesome. These are the sort of people who use sites like reddit, and when they found the misc they told all their forever alone friends on these other sites about the misc.

Misc used to be a place where lifters could chat chit to one another.

There is a comfort in knowing those you are miscing with have been through the same lifting journey as yourself.
Knowing that they have character and are strong willed human beings.

Bulking and cutting (how most amateurs here do it) is not healthy. I remember reading a thread about a 230lbs guy who wanted to join the marines or something and wouldn't be able to pass the running test, they recommended he cut his weight down to 160lbs and he laughed in their face. His doctor told him his BMI showed he is overweight/obese and he said "**** doctors though".

I'm using the fact Misc has other content exclusive to this site. That's one I can think of off the top of my head, but there's others which aren't like that.
