reckon that's just gonna throw ur form off.
fwiw, I have done fast marches and route marches during my military service, and its a whole different animal.. if you wish to increase power output, I think hill sprints and strength training in the gym will be a better and smarter optionYou can't get much done in life if you only work on the days when you feel good.

Sup brahs, anyone got some good albums to listen to while running, I like dance and compilation type stuff but any recommendation is good.

Went on my first run today in about 3 years. I ran a couple miles and I actually enjoyed it. I wanted to do some sprints when I got done but figured I should get used to my Newtons a little more first.

Anyone know if my 1 mile run will improve with Hiit?
Currently doing Hiit for 30 mins. 1 mile on, 1 mile off. I'm at 10mph on the treadmill hoping to get to 12mph and das it mane. I want to run the mile under 7 minutes or whatever the alpha time is to run a mile. Currently at 8 mins, but that was like a month ago.* MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN Crew*

that just sounds like interval training.. not HIIT.
My current 1.5mile timing is just under 9:30.. I shaved 45s off in 3 months by doing interval work. 8x400m sprints with full rest between sets or 4x800m sprints with full rest between sets. This is on top of at least 2 easy runs a week.

I've officially run myself into a shoe crisis. Since Mizuno Wave Alchemy's aren't made anymore I've been trying to transition to a new shoe.
With that said, first into the shoot is the Wave Paradox. Garage. After three weeks(200+ miles) I've already torn small holes in the sides on both shoes where my pinky toes rub. Apparently my pinky toes are pretty callused from years of abuse in military boots I didn't even notice any issues. On top of that, the shoe has caused pain, not shin splits or stress fractures, just general muscle aches over my shins and in my calves. Probably has a lot to do with my mileage on a daily basis and not willing to slowdown to break in the shoes. So used to grabbing a new pair of Wave Alchemy's and off I went with no issues.
Also, I tend to run my shoes into the ground to the point I wear the rub sole to wear it might not be present in some places. For those wondering it takes about 2,000 miles or so to do that.
That said, anyone have an suggestions or know any heavier set ultra friends? Curious to know what they're running. I don't have issue with minimal shoes (used to wear five fingers and new balance's minimus series). I'm a fore to mid-foot striker. Varies between road and trail. I'm a big mileage(80-120 miles) a week and will do any thing from couple half marathons one week to an ultra the next in the mountains. I've literally had no running related injuries in the past 10 years that didn't put me out any longer than a couple days (bad blisters, stub a toe hard, etc).
Edit: Debating Brooks Ravenna 5 or New Balance 890's.Last edited by Daegus; 07-27-2014 at 10:22 AM.

Not as hardcore as the poster above me on the mileage...mirin though... I'm curious as to shoes for Spartan runs and such. Anyone got any recommendations for shoes that are light with a strong grip in muddy and wet conditions? I'm off to do my 6 mile run/90% ...hilly terrain...doomed by my environment unless I drive out...hopefully no more than a 9 to 10 minute mile pace.

Do shoes are you running in? And how old are they? One of the most overlooked and most important in my opinion, is getting a quality pair of running shoes. If you go to any legit running shoe store, there are often times professionals that will fit the shoe that best for your running style.I am currently prepping for a Bodybuilding show, follow my journey :
