Right in the feels.
I've been going through this for the past couple years. Finally found someone that I find intriguing and interested in beyond the bedroom. You're not being elitist, I dont think it's a bad thing. We know our self worth, what we deserve and hopefully we'll find an equal. I find a lot of people boring today, settling for the first person they find, satisfied with their mediocre life (a lot of friends are this way). I love solitude, but it's getting old.
Also, I find it very tiring playing the "games" everybody plays today. So much energy is spent doing that chit.
Sorry if my words are everywhere. Hangover of peace as well

I have noticed this. Keep in mind, I'm entirely happy with my girlfriend and see us being together long-term, but have still noticed. Being in grad school and now near NYC for the summer, there is nobody that I'm intrigued by or really want to get to talk to more. I don't know if I've been a little bit jaded by all the BS that gets thrown around in a grad program or what...
I've just really focused on bettering myself and making smart moves towards my future over the past year or two and am happy with that. (saving more money, keeping few good friends rather than making tons of ok ones, reading more books, world news, etc.)

Mirin bro. Haven't seen this brand repped as much in the past 2-3 threads as a few years ago. Nice stuff.
This exactly. Introvert/10. Sometimes I have to make up things to say I did over the weekend at my internship because the few times I said I went for bike rides or read on the patio, I got looked at like I'm crazy.

Legit loled. One of the great pleasures of life is sitting out in the sun, reading an amazing book.
Currently reading 'Quiet: the power of introverts in a world that can't stop talking'. I used to wish that I could be more demonstrative with emotion, and open, like extroverts are, but as I've gotten older, I've learned to appreciate my quiet ways.7:1

Story time...Myron can appreciate this.
I've spent the last two weeks putting together numbers for a bid on a new project as mine is in its final stages. Its a very detailed, lengthy process making sure you have everything covered etc. Either way, went to the bid the last week...we came in second out of four bidders. A difference of <100k on a $10mil job kept us from being the low bidder. F'n tough pill to swallow as I have previously worked with the Architectural Firm. So this is what the next night looked like....
The low only lasted two days. My bonus was confirmed yesterday and will be a gamechanger. I expect it to be near a third of my base salary and I have a very solid base. We caught a lot of breaks on the project I am closing out and should finish around >10% on 9mil which is absolutely nuts. 3%-4% is usually the standard of profit in commercial construction for a General Contractor.
Either way, Saturday night; custom fit white RL OCBD, blue Alden fit Banana Republic pants and bass loafers (I know, poverty). I kept the locks in the pictures but will be cutting them off next week. I've had them for two years...time to switch it up.
As for Daisy, yea. I live in a big city and find myself bored with others. I have a history of finding something wrong and trouble committing; however, I've recently decided I'm open to at least participating in the early stages of a relationship. Here is where it gets tricky.
Women my age 1) most didn't age well 2) if still single, may have trust issues/can't be trusted 3) have children, no thanks Jeff
Women younger 1) life may be too social as in drinking on several weekdays 2) not mature to the point I like 3) do not have a solid work ethic or career
I am certain it will figure itself out.
Edit: Birdwalker, sorry man. I accidently negged in lieu of repped. I will get you back twice.Last edited by SF49ers; 07-20-2014 at 12:20 PM.

I'm super content with my quietness too. The gf is very similar, so we are always on the same page of what is a "relaxing weekend" or what kinds of social settings we are most comfortable in. However, I do think that part of the reason I loved wrestling so much is that it was the one time that I felt no reservations at all and had more confidence than any other aspect of life.S&P

They look awesome. Are they slim fit? Regular fit VV stuff tends to be huge although I do own a few... Hoping they start making more stuff in slim fit.
Elitist but true. I totally agree with you. Not many people out there who truly want to put in the work it takes to be great at something.

I am a weird mofo on this subject.
I can have periods where I would rather stay at home and read some philosophy or decent literature and other times I like to go out and rage.
But really, I love to go watch Ballet, classic Theater and Opera...
Being 19, and one of the typical 'bros' I mean I am really rowdy, I am built like a tank, all my friends are the same bunch. It´s really hard to find a girl that can live with my both sides. I had a girl that was so sweet and kind, ran track etc but couldn´t live with my wild side. And others know me when I am a raging bull in the clubs but when I am dressed up and ready to go to the Opera they all look at me like I am an alien.
I don´t need a girl that loves these kind of things, she doesn´t have to be all up in my country-club vibe, she doesn´t have to be able to recite Dostoevski etc. But she HAS to be able to hold her own in these types of social occasions. I have had friends bertstare me hard when I was in a more 'uptown' caffé and had a conversation about the great romantic novelists etc.
I mean the girls I hang around with aren´t dumb, but they are uncultured. Uncultivated really.
Oh well, maybe when I get older.
Really hard having these two completely different sides off me. I always look slightly out of place wherever I go.*Competitive Judo Black Belt crew*

Congrats SF49ers!
(in spite of your username)

Anyone in here watch "Suits"? I made a thread asking about Suits vs. Mad Men on the Misc yesterday...I'm sure that given this type of crowd, almost everyone in here would recommend Mad Men, but in a non-comparison format, what are your guys' thoughts on Suits? I don't watch much TV (the last thing I really watched was Dexter), but I'm considering getting into one of these shows.
EDIT: Only other shows that I would likely consider right now are Breaking Bad or House of Cards.Today I'll do what others won't, so tomorrow I can do what others can't.

Suits isn't half the show that Mad Men is, but I would expect it would be more popular for the general demographics of the misc. Suits is entertaining and moves fast, but it's shallow. It's really not a fair comparison, you're comparing a show that is widely regarded as one of the best ever to a show that airs on USA.
5 wasn't great, but 6 improved IMO. First 4 are outstanding.***Georgia Crew***

@Silk, do you want some water son? Strong thirst post. BRB have never seen an attractive girl, have to constantly bring up her attractiveness.
Mirin. Yes, I think it's natural. Meet tons of people on the reg, never impressed by them. Never feel like they have an impact on me.
My problem is that I'm always questioning myself. Am I interesting? Am I cool to be around with? Do I bore people? I know I'm at least kind of interesting or else I wouldn't get invited out as often as I do, but I am both vain and insecure.
Real talk, I wouldn't worry about it though. Hedonist crew checking in, disregard negative things and focus on things that make you happy & give you pleasure.
