haha ouch. i don't get why everyone is mad either. i think it is awesome that the cavs take the time to develop these young players until they are ready to play on an NBA team. the NBA knows that no player will stay for any length of time in cleveland, which is one of the worst cities in the U.S. i see it as the nba turning cleveland into an assist rather than just being a black hole it had been.

This video is a perfect example of Kyrie's lack of will and heart. Kyrie was out of his mind on the offensive end on this night and put up 40 pts and 9 assists. His terrible defense against Teague allowed Teague to put up 34 pts and 14 assists along with a game winner. Watch how lazy he is at defending the PnR early in the vid. Also notice how far he lays off of Teague which provides Teague with easy passing lanes. Kyrie was assigned off of Teague after being abused before taking back the assignment on the last play of the game.

On the game winning shot, you will see a very light screen set near half-court which Kyrie could have easily slid under and stayed with Teague. Instead, he just steps to the side and leaves his big man on an island with a much quicker Teague. Your franchise player should want that challenge at the end of the game. Teague isn't the best defender but I guarantee you that he would have slid under the screen and stuck with Kyrie as he wants the challenge. Kyrie wanted no part of Teague on that last play.

Agreed though, Irving is a solid wingman, not a franchise centerpiece. IMO - this pick and the cavs future depends more on how the Cavs deal with Irving than anything else.

I agree. Irving will make or break this era for the Cavs but they are almost stuck with paying him.

Not according to every metric that actually matters (revenue, attendence, franchise worth, etc.) Cleveland is in no way near the top, but they are not at the bottom either.

Back on topic, I think the Cavs need to look at Wiggins, Parker, and Embiid and see who would be the best fit in the locker room. The Cavs problem is not talent, its lack of leadership and off-court problems. You can make a case for all 3 of these guys being the number 1 pick, thus they need to find someone that is not arrogant or oozing self entitlement. Getting Lebron back in Cleveland is laughable, all focus needs to be on re-signing Kyrie and developing all that young talent.

meh. the way Kyrie played last year......not really that impressed with his lack of leadership, passing skills, scoring skills, defense......really anything about him. He looked average most nights. I mean it's a pretty telling sign when the Cavs play better when Kyrie is hurt. And i watched a lot of Cavs games last year....

Kyrie is overrated as hell. Plays no defense. Doesn't make his teammates better. Is injured half of the time. Has no heart. Wiggins is 98% potential and 2% skill right now. He could turn in to another Marvin Williams just as easily as turning in to a perennial all-star.

As a Cavs fan, I totally agree with you about Kyrie. I wouldn't be against trading him, if you can get a guy who is willing to play hard for him.

deng won't be back. Doubt Hawes will either (rumor was he wants to play on the west coast). Thompson and Zeller are wimps. Varejao just gets hurt all the time. I do believe that Bennett will be a good player, no star (but who will be from that lame draft last year). and i also don't think Lebron will be back in Cleveland until he is ...34 or older.
