    finding kakis to fit

How do you guys deal with finding clothes to fit as you get bigger? My thighs are tight in all my pants anymore and its somewhat annoying. And its not like I can wear sweatpants or workout shorts to the office, like I basically wear all the time at home now. Does "relaxed fit" work or do you go a size bigger and just use a belt?

Noooooo. not this - Im still wearing my 36 waist pants my legs are bigger waist is smaller, they are all cinched up at the waist, I look like I'm homeless....Its a good look for a business casual environment, (way lower perfomance expectations from managment) to pull it off completly I grew a beard and splash on a bit of cat urine before work. Or you could try various brands and sizes..

I wear 34" waisted pants (my waist measures 28.75).

Fortunately I'm in scrubs mostly so I just grab the clown size and cinch up the string. #mchammer

Go to a men's store, try on pants. When you find a size that's fits purchase them.

Strangely enough, the people that we would consider big never ask these questions.

The whole issue is faintly reminiscent of the woman who gains weight, but insists she is the same dress size, so she keeps squeezing herself in to clothes that are too small. The solution to both these problems is thankfully very simple: BUY BIGGER CLOTHES.

Bring all your pants to a tailor and have them add pleats to the thighs. This will accomplish 2 things:

    (1) it will give you adequate room for future muscle growth.

    (2) when you flex you'll look like an accordion. In fact, we'll call them polka pants.

I really don't think OP is being a douche about this. The truth of the matter is that most pants are designed for people with little to no ass or thighs. No OP isn't THAT big, but I do understand where he's coming from on this issue.

I know I'm hardly huge, and you can write all the words you want but it doesn't change the fact that my thighs are annoyingly tight in my pants. Perhaps its a "use a different brand" thing as said by some, or perhaps its a "it doesn't matter, just get used to it" thing. Maybe its a "dry on low heat" thing too. I was just looking for a clue from experienced people and didn't expect the Spanish Inquisition, jeez.

Thank you for the serious answers.

I totally get it, I've always had this issue from years of competitive rowing.

I buy pants that fit in the thighs and butt and have my tailor take them in at the waist. It adds $30 to pants, but I would rather have pants that fit than the alternative.

You can have the waist on pants taken in by 3" normally (beyond that it's cheaper to get them bespoke with how much work they have to do), so you just buy a bigger waist size, have the waist taken in and are left with more room in the ass and legs.

If you can settle for jeans, then Gasp has a few with wider thighs.
I got myself a black pair - not cause I needed , I just liked them.

At my gymthere are a number of big dudes and i'm not talking fat but just what you picture when you hear the word "bodybuilder", and what's funny is every single one of them wears pants, shirts, etc and none of them are bitching about being too hoooge to wear clothes. I love these threads about threads

I have above average legs and butt for a "normal" person. Basically, I'm short and have runningback legs. My legs haven't really grown in decades. Yet, all of a sudden in the last 3 years, new pants don't fit me anymore. I will walk in with ANY of my older pants feeling great, then try on what I consider the same size and style, and they don't even come close to fitting. What I keep finding is the crotch seems too tight, as if they are making it more snug and not letting the material hang. The butt is snug as well. The top of the thigh is definitely tight, but I could deal with it if the crotch and butt weren't so tight. I try to deal with the fact that I'm getting older and fatter, but then I put my regular pants on and they fit great. I've experienced this enough times in enough stores to call foul.

I hadn't bought khaki's in years because of the fit problems (same with jeans of course). Recently, I found Wrangler Relaxed Fit Pleated fit me great (got them from Wal-Mart). I don't know how the pleats make the butt and crotch fit better, but I bought a half dozen pairs just in case the factory miscut them. I wear a 36 and have for years. But I've got some old clothes tucked away from my parents house that are 34 and even a 32. I can't button them, or they feel uncomfortable in the waist when I do...but they fit fine in the upper thigh, crotch and butt.

How do you tell if a post is an e bragg question or a legitimate question? I assume most are regular questions?

    Inquiring minds want to know?

there are several sites online that will make pants custom (specifically jeans) here is one of them:
    http://www.makeyourownjeans.com/

There is also a company getting started - they are currently sourcing funds on kickstarter
    *****://www.kickstarter.com/projects/barbellapparel/barbell-denim-functional-denim-has-arrived

I still think the best option though is to find a good tailor. I am in loose fit Levi's now, but even they are to the point where it is tough keeping things in the pockets. Going up a waist size is an option, but then it looks sloppy - hence, they go to the tailor.

There are companies that make things to fit larger individuals, but they rarely look as good as "designer" items and in my experience, they usually focus on workwear.
