Monday-Deads
I commuted this morning and afternoon. The weather was nice and I'm not wasting good days "resting".
I actually felt surprisingly good in the evening, and still had energy to train. I did notice I ate a lot of carbs yesterday, so I'll continue that trend.
Printed out my 5/3/1 numbers, threw them in my bag, put my bag in car at bus stop, then my wife drove off with my bag in her car last night.
Deficit Deadlifts
275x3 for 2 sets
325x3 for 2 sets
365x 6 singles. Tried to keep rest periods short.
275x5
Assistance
25 total chins
lots of barbell curlz so I can be jact and tan
I looked at my 5/3/1 numbers last night and my top set should have been 355 or so for 5 reps. I'll just pretend that's what happened and get started today.

true.
The deficit pulls were actually "needed" IMO. I've felt weak off the floor lately, so working on being a little more patient off the floor during these pulls will hopefully help.
I'm taking your advice and just set up a simple 5/3/1 template, that way if I don't have time, I'm at least doing the main lift and lifting more than I did the previous month instead of just maintaining.

Didn't get downstairs till almost 9. Had some energy and was looking forward to training. The baby came to the basement door and just cried non stop after I hit my 150x5 set, so I just did the other two working sets and came upstairs to get him in bed.
**** happens. going to do some assistance work today to make up for what I missed.

Coming back
I've been doing the Cube Method again, still training alone, but getting some strength back.
I'm getting laid off in 2 weeks, and while I don't think I'll be unemployed for long, I now have the time, energy, desire, and aggression to start training again. I still have no plans of competing, and no desire to do so, but I want to achieve a few goals.
I'm setting some reasonable goals, that shouldn't require busting my balls too much.
By December 2015 I want to:
Squat 405
Deadlift 510
Set a bench PR (235 I think)
Snatch 155 (completely pulling this number out of the air, I have no idea how reasonable that will be, but I don't foresee it being difficult)
Will be back to logging/filming on occasion to hold myself accountable.Last edited by bmontgomery87; 11-14-2014 at 06:20 AM.

Hang Snatch
45 x 3 sets of 3
65 x singles
75 x singles
85 x singles
95 x lots of sets of 2
Hit some jump rope and some face pulls, and finally spent a little time on the foam roller.

Friday:
I had a friend come over and lift friday. I had a pretty easy day w/ the Cube setup, should have gone a bit heavier.
Also did some 5x10 assistance to get ready for the BBB. I plan on running that for 2-3 months this winter and trying to put some size back on.
Since my numbers will be ridiculously low for the next few months, I'm working on form, getting solid depth, and pausing my pressing.
Squats
225x3
225x5 for 2 sets
Deadlifts
Lots of snatch grip pulls with 185
Getting used to the movement again
Finished up with some more hang snatches.
Saturday:
I dont remember my numbers. That's just a volume day so I did
Bench press 3x8-10
Seated on the floor military for 3 sets of 6-8
Hang Snatch- worked up to 105 for 2 singles
Sunday
Incredibly sore from BBB deadlifts, not used to the volume.
Hopped on the bicycle rollers for 10 minutes to get some blood flowing.
Realized the weather was going to be crap this morning, so I hopped on the bike at 530 last night and rode 10 miles to get my car from work.Last edited by bmontgomery87; 11-17-2014 at 10:00 AM.

The Plan
I have my 5/3/1 template all set up and ready to go, but I'll be doing Cube for 1 more week.
I have a race in December and want to be deloading that week so I don't have to worry about a lack of energy or sore legs.
I'll be training alone most of the winter, with the occasional squat partner, so the safest program for me seems to be 5/3/1. I can just do the required numbers and call it a day, or push it if I have someone to spot. Doing max effort work on a regular basis without a true power rack just isn't going to work out.

I'm trying to build up to handle some volume so BBB doesn't totally kill me. It'll drop back off in the spring, but while it's cold I plan on eating and doing lots of reps to grow and maintain some conditioning.
And I've been training alone for so long, I need to really force myself to break parallel instead of bro squatting. So hopefully this helps
