Picked these up at a specialty shop by my folk's place. The Rock & Rye was the shop owner's fave and Moxie--the original cola.
Burger joint in Seoul. Ate w/ spinach dip and chips. The beef in the patties is ground fresh every morning.
NY Style Pizza: half chicken spinach pesto, half buffalo mozz, so good.
My grandma's braised pork belly and mushroom stew--looks and tastes HNNNNNNNNGGGGGGGGGG to me, love animal fat
My fave prime rib in the world. Get it w/ my pops whenever I'm home. Was on a cut so subbed rice pilaf/steamed veggies for my usual loaded baked potato and mac 'n cheese. Au jus and creamy horseradish also pictured. You're nuts, man. And I can't help you. Probably because I'm just a simple dude!

Faygo Rock and Rye is the bomb. My landlords are from the Detroit area and they were ecstatic to find some around here once. I'd never tried it so they introduced me. Holy chit is that stuff good.

Here's a basic recipe.
http://chinesefood.about.com/od/eggf...eggfooyung.htm
Egg foo yung is super versatile, though, so you can mix and match your favorite ingredients. Also, instead of blanching the vegetables, I just stir-fry them for a minute before adding them to the eggs. If you're using mushrooms, another thing you can do is add the liquid cooked off the mushrooms and add it to the sauce.

Boil some peeled potatoes, blend with milk/cream, butter and salt till smooth. Then add 1% of the puree's weight in methylcellulose. Let cool to hydrate in the fridge for a few hrs. Fill molds halfway with potato puree, but a block of cheddar in it and cover with more puree. Bake @ 200 for 10 min or so

I had lots of the basic ingredients leftover from yesterday's egg foo yung, so I changed a few things and made a mushroom and cheese frittata.
It went really well with pigeon pea soup.

Last nights weekly cheat meal at Slaters 50/50 Liberty Station San Diego. Perhaps the best one I have had since my show on Oct 5th.
Finished in just under 24 minutes I am told by a waitstaff member who did not think I would finish it at all after hearing I ordered it all for myself. I was not even trying to rush this either....
Bacon Blondie Brownie, 2/3lb Peanut Butter & Jealousy Burger, Slater's Fried Chicken & Pancakes (has egg and bacon inside!)
Brunch the day before at Hash House a Go Go in HillCrest San Diego. May very well be my new favorite brunch spot in all SD county after seeing the plates coming out of the kitchen.....HUGE!!
Roasted Chicken Hash....this is a smaller menu item mid you....most others much bigger.

Alright everyone, goin on a vacation so this is gonna be my last post for a few weeks...but I'm sure there will be a ton of pics worth uploading when I get back
anyways, heres some food from this week...
Homemade tuna burger with sriracha/maple syrup and crispy sweet potato fries
Some 4 egg omelettes with cheese

Homemade chocolate peanut butter cups
^ made these every night this week, switching up the flavors each time. More calorie dense than an actual Reese cup, but honestly tastes just as good and with 'healthier' ingredients...no bake/freeze eitherLast edited by cls91; 12-17-2013 at 09:17 PM.
