Yeah for me they were a good investment as we have multiple people using them at once so we needed a full set of individual ones. The often come up second hand on Gumtree so always worth looking there.
At the start heaps of my gear was powertec and ironmaster and it served me really well with no issues.
As time went on though, we needed heavier duty gear so I sold the Powertec leverage squat and multipress, as well as a set of ironmaster dumbbells.
I still have the powertec bench and leg ext attachment but I`m after a commercial inc/flat bench and a standalone leg ext machine.

@Skid - Its a Combo Incline. I mainly use it as a Jammer though and rarely twist with it.

awesome gym its grown a lot . did you fully enclose the original space you had? or move to a new space? I remember it being smaller or perhaps you only utilized one side. I am also curious
which building that is too and the sq ft . or square meter .
rpark, which hand gripper is that in the video?▪█───────█▪ Equipment Crew #46 ▪█───────█▪

Cheers mate, yeah it is now all fully enclosed, which is great in winter but proving to be rather hot in summer so will need to look at AC next.
Its around 50sq mts 7x7.

Got my deadlift platform built today.
I am pretty sure I saw the design on here, so thanks to whoever originally explained how to do this.

Let me know what you end up deciding on; a GHD is a piece of kit I'd like to add.
The new Again Faster GHD looks good. Not sure when it will drop in AU.
The force USA one gets good reviews.
Rogue is too expensive in AU, Cyber market looks ok, and a few places do a $400ish model.

I`ve been looking at the cyber market one and it looks pretty good. With postage the IE one works out at about 900 bucks which is a fair cost. The cybermarket one comes to about 600, and I just don`t see the IE one being worth 300 more.
I`ve always avoided force usa like the plague though as everything I`ve tried by them has not been that well built. I may look into their GDH though as I really want one to compliment my hammie training.
PS - I hope you are all safe with the bushfires mate. My safe thoughts go out to all the NSW crews fighting it, brave people.

I've added/changed a few items in my gym, so I figured I'd show the new items. Not the greatest pics in the world, but here you go:
You can take a look at what I had in a previous post, but I went from a ProMaxima rack to the Elite one, and a mix of dumbbell racks (already had the dumbbells) to the York ones. And added the Concept2 rower. While I won't go completely jackbravo and not get stuff until I hit certain milestones, I've been more and more willing to pass up on good deals unless I feel like something will help me progress...although if an Elitefts cable crossover w/ low row and lat pulldowLast edited by lemieux66c; 10-20-2013 at 03:39 PM.

Just confirmed again faster's ghd ( new style with compact footprint, vertical weight tree and multiple adjustments) is available in AU.
Might be worth a look.
Thanks for well wishes; I'm in the south east, so as long as the national park doesn't spark off I'll be ok.
A few mates from work live in springwood, so I'm more worried about them

Hello all, Realatively new guy to this forum.
I have recently started working out at home so I cannot use the dreaded, "I don't have time" excuse. I got an amazing deal on Olympic weights off of Craigslst;
360lb's of olympic plates.
Olympic plate stand.
Olympic bar
Bench (Not really great but works)
Weider calf raise seat.
All this for $150 bucks!!!!! The guy was moving and needed it gone within a couple of hours...
I am going to build my own power rack with plans from the home gym bodybuilding site. What I am lacking is dumbbells. I just cannot pay the high price for the adjustble toasters and the cast iron weights are just too dang expensive and require way too much space. My only real option is the screw lock handles with the small hole plates or those big Olympic size handles that the large hole weights fit. (I am thinking this is a bad choice).
How many of you all use the screw lock weights? WalMart starter kits are like 40lbs for $25 and the individual plates are a lot cheaper. Thoughts, opinions, advice, personal experience input is greatly appreciated!
Thanks
Wade

so many great home gyms here xD
i have:
Z Curl Bar
Straight Bar
Adjustable Dumbells that i can put up to 62kg at each.
3 pair os adjustable Dumbells
Pull up Bar
Use Chairs for Dips
Over 200kg in Weights (Plates), all standard. Nothing Olympic, i dont feel the need for Olypimc stuff, weight is a weight and Olympic stuff is too much $$, maybe when i have my own home and a job since im still a student.
Belt to add weight on pull ups and dips
Adjustable Bench
and i think thats it. All you need anyway, i just need the power rack now to do some squats and bench press.

This was hard to get to this point, I had help yesterday and I'm still worn out!
I still need to figure out how to get the shed door open with the horse mats in the way. I'm probably going to cut away some of the bottom and put some kind of sloped wooden stop in front to keep the rain out of the bottom. At least I think that's what I'll do
I still need to redo some of the shingles I'm using as spacers underneath the mats but that won't be hard since they are in place.
Eventually this will make it to the back but I need a roof to keep it good according to the manufacturer. But otherwise its ok to sit outside.
I keep my weight sled by the front door inside, since I use it on the road. The yard is too lumpy and not long enough.▪█───────█▪ Equipment Crew #46 ▪█───────█▪
