Does Anyone Have Experience With Melatonin?

I have problems getting a good nights sleep. I can't seem to get more than 5 or so hours in a night, although in the past few weeks I think Creatine and more water makes me get up at night.

That aside, I have (2) bottles of 3mg melatonin, and am on the fence if I should take it or not? I understand it's about proper timing (take it right before bed?), but where it's a natural hormone, I'm wondering if anyone has seen negative effects from taking it, or has it helped sleep patterns?

i take 3mg every night before bed. Puts you to sleep and keeps you asleep. Idk what I would do without it tbh.

Mix this with some "Relax All with Phenibut" and you will have the deepest sleep of your life and wake up rested ready to tackle the day

It works. Take it 90 minutes before bedtime. I do 3mg. No side effects or dependency issues.

It really depends on what your issue is. Are you having problems falling asleep, or staying asleep? Melatonin might help you fall asleep, but from what myself and friends of mine have found it doesn't help you stay asleep. If you have issues staying asleep look into something like ZMA, or all around sleep aids like ErgoZzz, LiGHts Out, 3Z, etc, etc. Some of those even have melatonin in them.

3mg about an hour or so before bed will be good. It will not have any negative sides since it is a naturally occurring hormone in your body. Melatonin is what triggers your body to sleep so taking it is just forcing that to happen when you want it to happen instead of your body.

I've only ever noticed benefits from melatonin with the only downside being occasionally having to take a bit more.

If the standalone version doesn't do it for you.. check out ErgoZzz as an option where it's combined with ZMA

I can fall asleep, but I get up several times during the night. Even before taking Creatine I had the same problem. It's really the broken sleep I'm trying to combat, so I can at least have my 5-6 hours be solid (aside from waking up to take a leak).

You have it already why not just use it and find out for yourself. Melatonin will not knock you out but rather promote restful/deep sleep.

If you are going to try them, start with the lowest dose you can - quarter or half the tabs up. Titrate upwards as necessary but going too high can incur sleep quality problems and a hung over like feeling in the morning.

i feel like melatonin is more of a fall asleep aid versus stay asleep.

as a side note, dont abuse it. tolerances build quick.

I usually take it 60 minutes before bed and go right to sleep. It works well for me. I don't have any problems with it at all. I would recommend taking it with another product like zinc or something else to increase the effects even more.

It's too bad you already bought the melatonin. ErgoZzz is B2G1 and it's more of what you're looking for. It also already has 3mg in it too.

I have used it sporadically from time to time and usually had good effects from it. Except over the past year I woke up with two different night terrors linked to anxiety I guess, however both nights I had taken the melatonin. Could just be coincidence but I am not taking it anymore. I had heard of similar instances with melatonin, Although it seems very rare.

weird, that deal isn't available in a canadian kart, but it doesn't exceed the allowed quantity since you can buy 3 (just not deal...)

Interesting because I have livid / lucid dreams regularly. I can actually go back into a dream after waking up. Wonder if Melatonin would mess me up that way.

Yes I am prone to them as we'll, although mine are normally terrifying lol. So I try
To avoid them at all costs. Like I said I'm not sure if the melatonin was associated with this but I stopped using it just as precaution and haven't had problems since.

Not sure why you are taking the zinc with it..?? You most likely are not deficient in zinc :P The zinc isn't doing much for you

Agreed. Zinc won't do much for sleep, but Magnesium will. Get a good form of magnesium like citrate or malate and add that to the melatonin.

Phenibut is srs. Melatonin is like my local bar that I can frequent for a drink a few nights a week.. familiar, predictable. Phenibut is like the crazy club downtown... maybe nice to know about to go to once in a while, provided you give your body to recover, but if you go there every night you're a madman.

A lot of people like it, a lot don't. Me, myself, I also suffer from sleep issues and Melatonin did nothing for me. Try it yourself, theres no need to worry about any side effects. If it doesn't help, there are a lot of great products out there. Ai Sports HGHPro w/ 3Z is what swear by myself. I know I am a little biased ;O) but I really love that stack and never wanna be without it

    msg me for samples =)

I love melatonin! I use it almost 5 days a week, as I don't ALWAYS need it. It def gives me some crazy and vivid dreams, but nonetheless I get restful sleep and wake up feeling recovered from intense workouts. I also have some of MP's Bulletproof, it has melatonin in it as well. This helps with recovery also as it is a night time BCAA product. A bit pricey though at $39.99 at my vitamin shoppe.

I understand it's about proper timing (take it right before bed?), but where it's a natural hormone, I'm wondering if anyone has seen negative effects from taking it, or has it helped sleep patterns?
Additional thoughts, I take 2 - 10mg melatonin caps and sleep like a baby. Anything less than 10mg and it doesn't do much for making me tired.

I use 500 mcg and it works well for me. Anything more than that and I wake up feeling really groggy.
