Yes, I'm pretty sure if my life was in the line, and a ferocious animal was trying to kill me, my brain wouldn't go "Passing out right now would be a good idea," as passing out is a way for your brain to protect you.

As someone mentioned before, my adrenaline would be full-tilt, and I would go into survival-mode; fight or flight, baby.

I've been in fights with dogs. I live in an area full of rednecks so these damn dogs just wander around. The only thing I'd say about it, is you just have to be able to kick and punch really ****ing fast. Don't try to wrestle with them to get a choke hold or something, because they are much quicker than you'd think and could get your throat. They don't seem that fast in videos and stuff, but when you are actually fighting them, some of them are insanely fast.

My friend says to hit it behind the ear to break its neck. Doesn't sound effective...any ideas?

Here's a dose of reality:

You are not strong enough to break a pitbulls neck. If you tried, it would bite your hands off and you would be helpless.

Lets say a pitbull or any other vicious dog is charging you. You either kick or drive your knee into its head. Try to repel the dog with kick. You wanna keep the dog away from your hands/face.

If after a while, you stun the dog somehow, you might be able to repeatedly beat the dog on the head or stomp its head until it is dead or stops moving. But chances are, if you do kill a pitbull you will be bleeding profusely and probably will have lost some fingers and part of your face.

I don't think that's ever been in question. They are not invincible. If someone were to kill (or mortally wound) one, I think it's pretty safe to say that the person would be pretty ****ed as well...but it is not impossible.

As long as you protect your neck a full grown man should be able to kill it.
Bigger dogs like mastiffs would be more of a problem for humans.

my friend got attacked by a pitbull at an out door hockey rink, the putbull was chasing as around the rink, we skated over the dressing room but my friend didnt make it, the dog caught him by the ankle and wouldnt let go. I was fukin surprised how tough those dogs are, I ended up having to break my Stealth($200 hockey stick) over its head before it let go, much to the retard owner's dismay who let go of the leash. I'm pretty sure the dog had a serious concussion and had to be put down, I don't feel guilty, my friend couldnt walk properly for like 3 months

My buddy gave a report once on how to handle yourself in case of a dog attack. The "ideal strategy" is to hold your arm out, whichever is NOT your dominant arm, so that the dog bites your forearm. Then, You take that arm and grab the dog's front leg (the dog's left leg, if you held out your left arm) and grab the other front leg with your free arm, and turn the dog over on its back, like you're turning a steering wheel. Then, you forcefully spread the dog's legs apart, as if you wanted to put your knuckles on the ground. Assuming his bones don't pierce his heart, which is what is supposed to happen, the dog will be out of commission.

I don't know how well this would work in a real-life situation, though.

If you offer your arm to a pitbull there's no grabbing of the leg with that arm...it's clamped...you don't get it back. =)
