Talking what lift makes you feel the most HARDCORE??

I'm on Rippetoe's program so for me it's deadlifts right now. And not just because it's the highest weight. It just feels awesome dragging that weight up with bare hands

    I feel all alpha

Probably the bench press, putting up big bench numbers if fun.

maybe heavy shrugs...realistically that is going to be your heaviest upper body lift

of course heavy rack "lockouts" are fun also

    http://img230.imageshack.us/my.php?i...lockoutfm2.jpg

me and this older dude were dong this last august....just trying to see how many plates we could get up off the pins...we both got 9 plates (each side) up..which is 855

.....he got 10 plates up on one side but not both sides....I couldnt budge 10 plates, lol

of course you have to bend the bar a couple inches before it actually moves, lol

btw, a lot of people can do way more than I did in that shot, lol....a few people can deadlift that off the floor...imagine what they could lockout like that!!

Deadlift with no straps. Its cool to lock it out and see the bar bending from the weight in the mirror.

    Ditto.

Last week I was doing deads in one of the few open areas left in my gym (after they blocked off the area I normally do them in), and I was lifting in front of the preacher curl station. The guy doing the curls actually moved the bench over so he could see himself in the mirror without my deadlifting impeding his vision.

Honestly I get more of a kick out of a good clean 'n press, or some heavy plate pinches. Guess I just expect deadlifts to be heavy. Plate pinches are deceptively hard. I suppose that it all depends what you are into.

    Deadlift here also.

It's funny that I used hate deads. But now it's my favorite lift. I still like the bench press, but I love the idea of pulling much more weight off of the floor.

    Deadlifts for sure.

I love the look people give me when I'm doing them.

I've never EVER seen another person do deads at my gym.

Gotta be the deads. Im in the same boat as some other guys on here...Im one of 3 peolpe at my gym who actually do them.

I guess people are more occupied looking at their arms in the mirror when they lift a 45 lb plate off the rack.

The definition of “hardcore” is the guy who makes sure he gets all his meals in every single day, every 3 hours, for months on end. It’s the guy who makes sure he sleeps 7 or 8 hours each and every night. It’s the guy who keeps a log book and writes down all his meals and workouts every day year after year. It’s the guy who continually tries to increase bar weight and who monitors his scale weight and body-fat on a weekly basis. That’s hardcore (yes, and more then just a little obsessive too). Hardcore is not the guy who dicks around for 23 hours of the day and then comes in the gym and walks around like a bad-ass and then gets in the squat rack and yells while doing one set of squats-By Kelly Baggett

The feeling I get after doing a heavy set of 3, or a heavy single is what I lift for.
