hey, i recently go told not to count protein that isn't from animals, e.g peanuts, cheese, etc. But is this true and if so why? it would be 100 times harder for me to just eat protein from chicken, turkey etc all day everyday as i dont have much money and im only 17 and still live at home.

The point is that the proteins in cheese are an animal byproduct and therefore they are complete proteins, different from vegetable proteins from plants such as soy or brocolli. Complete vs Incomplete proteins are only relevant if you're a vegan or have a very close to vegan diet. An average individual on a normal diet will get mostly complete proteins anyway, so it'd be wrong to avoid counting certain ones.
