There is always someone less fortunate, with real hunger, with real adversity, who made something of themselves. What is your excuse?

I haven't really normal benched with a barbell in a couple years (I still do close-grip on occasion), but I feel obligated to elaborate so as not to appear to be a pu$$y: Best single ever was 265 (as a touch-and-go "gym" bench, bit of bounce and maybe momentarily butt off bench), best ever paused legit single was 245 with a bench shirt (which really do help) but I also only weighed ~145 at the time. Or 225 x 10 for a fresh set. A couple years ago I pulled something in my outer left pec or inner shoulder while BB benching, and it generally doesn't feel quite right anymore with a BB in normal width grip. Even db BP or dips, which I still do, occasionally feel sketchy.
I dumbbell bench now (or use hammer-strength machine), and 100lb db x 4 is my recent-history max but I rarely use above 90 lb (unless I get somebody to help me get that first rep set up by pushing my elbows, which isn't often). Never tried a single with DB's, doubt it's much more than 100. In my defense, I use a fuller range of motion than most guys in my gym when it come to db presses.
Pecs, as far as my upper body is concerned, really hasn't been my priority as they are ahead of everything else in terms of size. Most often I hit them after shoulders. I'd be happy sprouting arms and shoulders tbh.

Mirin!
....
Been messing around the past few days, gaming in pretty much all my free time. Was supposed to start diet on Monday...but I didn't feel like it mostly due to discovering Ben & Jerry's Pineapple and Passion Fruit Swirl Frozen Greek Yogurt. Soooo yummy. I ate a pint yesterday, and only a quarter pint of the Blueberry & Graham Frozen Yogurt today lol.
Watched the finale of season 17 of TUF...was amazing to get to watch a female MMA fight on a UFC under card. Seriously inspired me! Can't wait to see Cat Zingano go against Ronda Rousey. Decided that I'm hitting the supermarket tomorrow for cut friendly foods and training my ass off for the next few months. I really want to get into the amateur circuit by the time I get to Washington this fall.

did you like it? i bought those flavors (new greek yogurt) the day they were put out at safeway, the lemon one is pretty damn good too. The blueberry one is awesome, so is the dark chocolate raspberry flavor as well. They are never on sale anymore so i just have half a dozen talenti, had german chocolate cake today, not that great and will have the black cherry amarena one tomorrow again.
Do you think in top condition you can take an average build guy out in a ring? (untrained guy)There is always someone less fortunate, with real hunger, with real adversity, who made something of themselves. What is your excuse?

24 hours after arriving home from the land of liquor and food, I'm the weight I was when I left. Most likely down tomorrow morning. Starting Tropinol XP + Intimidate today and eating 2100 calories until the Vegas bloat goes away. Gonna get to 2500 calories and see what happens to my weight from there. I want to hit that sweet spot where you can keep improving performance while leaning out. Don't really care about adding mass, just want to get my athleticism pushed back to good levels. Going back to insane Ammex training with sprints, 5ks, half marathons, climbing, trail running, hiking, yoga, body weight work, and heavy compounds. I only want to consume the exact amount of calories I need to recover adequately.
Hoping the Trop stack helps recomping. APE seemed to help a bit when I used that. Time will tell. Thinking of doing an unsponsored log for it.1175 @172

Given enough time, any man may master the physical. With enough knowledge, any man may become wise. It is the true warrior who can master both, and surpass the result.

I think bb.com is slowly changing that tho.
