Some of the people in this thread are pretty stupid.....
When nutrition facts refer to "Sodium" what they are refering to is the mineral that your cells use to absorb water. If you didn't have enough sodium in your diet you would die of dehydration. Conversely, if you are taking in to much you can also become dehydrated. If your diet includes large amounts of sodium you will retain water in your body. (thats why pro BBers take in basically zero sodium the day before competition) Your sodium intake will not negatively affect your gains, but it will hide them if its too high; not in fat, but under layers of water weight. (this doesnt need to be "burned" off like fat, simply lower your sodium intake and you will shed that water weight)
Bottom line
If your cutting, lose the sodium and if your bulking it won't help or hurt you so do what tastes good.

They used Fermented soy their is a big difference. Although now a lot of the Asian nations are getting away from fermented.
Btw if you think soy won't affect your health read: "The Whole Soy Story"
Edit: Although as said a little soy sauce here and their will prob be unnoticeable in it's effects.
But it certianly won't have any positive effects, so that leaves only neutral-negative effects so why eat it?
If it's because of taste man up and don't eat it. It's the equivalent of eating some white suger laden candy, sure eating a piece or 3 every day will probably be unnoticeable gain wise, but why the fuk would you want to?
And in the long run it will be noticeable health wise.Last edited by kvkx111; 12-11-2007 at 11:03 AM.

Like you say, it will probably not make much of a difference gain wise. I would agrue that health wise it would not make much difference either but for the sake of arguement, lets say I'm wrong about that.
You don't live forever, at the age of 18 you should not be worrying about taking in a little to much sodium because it means youll die at 87 as opposed to 88. In the long run you just need to enjoy life, and this is not a BBer thing or a healthly choices thing either, a little sodium or candy every now and than is no big deal stop freaking out everyone.

Eh maybe.
But lets say one person eats a small amount of w/e (candy etc. w/e) every day 18-45 and the other person eats perfect or close to it.
(Also this will obviously become a greater gap depending on diffrent diets.)
One person at 45 is prob going to have a body functioning at 90% the other a body functioning at 100%.
I personly want to be in the best possible condition at all times at all ages.
That said it's your body treat it how you want.

soya sauce has 7% MSG lol tis' poison! And its high in sodium. But use it in moderation and you wont have a problem. I wouldn't marinate with it.
You can walk outisde and listen to all kinds of talk, get told that you're a god or a total bastard. The iron will always kick you the real deal. The iron is the great reference point, the all-knowing perspective giver. Always there like a beacon in the pitch black. I have found the iron to be my greatest friend. It never freaks out on me, never runs. Friends may come and go. But two hundred pounds is always two hundred pounds.
