    Gripping Bar

    Hi all,

    I'm having trouble gripping the barbell as I go up in weight when doing shrugs. I'm up to about 250lbs and find I have a harder time keeping the bar slipping then doing the actual exercise. It's not from sweat or anything, it just like my hands aren't strong enough to keep it gripped after the 2nd or 3rd set.

    Any suggestions?

    Strengthen your forearms or go buy straps. For now, I would recommend using the straps.

    ever since i doscovered chalk i rarely even use straps. although a lot of gyms dont allow chalk anyways now but i just use it anyway and clean it up so nobody notices. chalk even helps on bench press and shoulder press.

    Either drop the weight. Or strengthen forearms. Watch videos on youtube on how to. I was going to try to explain, but realized it would take forever and probably be ineffective.
