You're right about only one thing, and that's this matchup getting more PPV buys. Look at Dave Meltzer's ratings for the best 2012 PPV matches. Half of them were CM Punk matches, half of them were Cena matches. As I said, they sold out to the casual fan for this year's Mania. And Punk brings a hell of a lot more than just great matches to the WWE. I can think of a lot better scenarios than what they came up with. If they were insistent on putting Cena at the top at WrestleMania, have Lesnar interfere with the title match at Royal Rumble. Punk keeps the title and he can put over Cena at WrestleMania. It's another rematch, but any match those two put on is 10X better than anything Cena could do with Rock. Then Rock fights Lesnar at WM. Or, you could have had the same scenario with Punk/Rock/Lesnar, but have Cena actually put someone over at WM. Ziggler cash in some time before now, Cena challenge him at WrestleMania, and Cena could put him over. Lesnar fights Rock, and Punk puts over Ryback in a Ryback finally gets his even matchup angle.Originally Posted by J_L_R

^^^ The Rock has to headline Mania. If he headlines WWE gets on all those stupid tabloid shows like TMZ. He's not going to comeback to not headline Mania. They could have had Rock vs. Brock or something... but if you are arguing against it from a pure "wrestling" standpoint anything with the Rock will not be as good as anything with Punk, Jericho, Bryan, or any guy like that.
