Answer mine!
For anybody who has a religion, answer. There are hundreds of different religions; what makes yours real and the others fake? What makes you different from the Aztecs who sacrificed people to their gods? Each religion believes their own is the only true one, so say Islam is the real religion, then wouldnt all Jews be punished after death? But then from other viewpoints, Judaism is real. Then all muslims would suffer after death. So whos right?
From this i believe that all religion is fake

Ermahgersh ok.
The same could be applied to you. What makes your beliefs right?
It's the faith in your belief. I believe I'm right. You believe you are. You believe in scientists who say the earth was made from either an explosion, or evolution. I believe in the Bible. And scientists that also agree in creation. It's a faith matter.

It was a question of mine to Christians ITT.
Genesis 1 says God created Earth and the heavens. So everything else in the universe besides Earth is considered part of the heavens. Following that logic, how was man able to reach "the heavens" (moon) without going into the afterlife?Squat: 300

Common sense would lead you to believe my brain and heart both exist. It is a known fact that humans need a brain and heart to survive, i am a human therefor I have a heart and a brain. as for my soul, there is nothing to lead you to believe it exists because it does not exist.

So you respect the beliefs of the 9/11 hijackers, who believed they were doing god's work?
The scientific method objectively and methodically uses data and experimentation to to test and verify hypotheses, continuously developing as new information become available.
You take the writings of a bunch of books and scriptures written thousands of years ago to be fact, with no possibility of innovation.
See the difference?

Yes, there are Christian scientists, along with Jewish, Muslim and Hindu scientists, and? It doesn't alter the fact that creationism cannot be scientific, since it cannot be tested, nor observed.
Every person has bias of course... the fundament of the scientific method is that it ignores biases and subjectivity. Not "irrelevant" in the slightest...

Evolution has been observed many times in many organisms...
To what degree could you use science against evolution? We might not be able to change each others minds that is true, but the debate is necessary, other wise there would be no progress at all. Galileo was charged with heresey and imprisoned by the Catholic church for saying that the Earth orbited around the sun.. we have come a long way since then (in some parts of the world at least. You still get beheaded in Saudi Arabia for blasphemy).Last edited by superstylr; 03-03-2013 at 06:08 PM.
