    Workout Structure

Is it better to do the big lifts at the start of a workout or at the end? And which method is the most commonly accepted? Both methods seem to make sense to me.
Let's take leg day example. I could squat first 'cause it's the main lift and I want it to be fresh for it, but that would leave me buggered for calf raises, etc. I could squat last, but then I won't be giving 100% on the most important exercise in the entire workout.

for each bodypart i do bench deadlift squat/leg press and military press first because they are the biggest weight movers for the bodypart

I do the big lifts first because not only does it mean that I have more energy to do them but also it gets me kind of psyched up for the rest of the workout. I've tried doing smaller lifts first but it's just not for me.

Big/compound lifts should come first. Work down to the smaller/individual muscles. Otherwise, the single muscle gets burned out, and significantly impacts your overall strength on the compound. . .
