Last night at the gym I was doing pull-ups along with about 3 other guys, no one knew one another we were just all sharing the pull-up bar (yes there is only one at the gym )
There is a box on the floor that I use all the time (I use it for Pull ups to reach the bar instead of jumping to the bar and on SLDL to elevate me so the plates don't hit the floor).
Well this dude says to me "you need the box"? when it was his turn and I said yes I am too short to reach the bar. Then he says, "Don't we all want to be taller" and I said "Not me, I want to be shorter" He laughs and I say, I am dead serious. He stares at me for a second with a confused look on his face and I am starring right back at him as serious as a f'cking heart attack.
He says OK and starts doing his pull ups.
Seriously you had to see the look on the guys face, he was dumbfounded
My son walks over to me and says, what did you tell that guy he looked spaced out?

Okay I am curious, why is that the perfect height BH? I am 6'4" and must admit while I enjoy being taller, it can be a pain in the a**. For one thing it hurts my back a lot of times to work off of regular height tables or counters. Even though I have a strong back from lifting it still puts me in that weird hunched over type position.
Get your ass in the gym period!

I have to ask why you'd want to be shorter (economy class aside). I can't think of any reason a guy would, unless he'd set his heart on being a jockey (in which case he wouldn't be concerned with bodybuilding as he'd be aiming to be as light as possible).
I wanted to be taller. My grandmother had been 5'10 and my mother 5'8'5 (least before she shrank) but weedy male genes watered us down. I maxed out at 5'7 at the age of 14 and I was annoyed as hell. I wanted to be a giant. I settled for trying to make myself as muscular as possible instead but my body had other ideas about that too. I'm still trying...Current log: http://forum.bodybuilding.com/showthread.php?t=149169243

When i was a kid,i wished i wasn't as tall. The thing was, when we got involved in any mischief and got caught,i was the one who got filled in,or at least recieved a bigger pasting than my pals.Maybe those who were dishing it out, assumed a bigger kid could take a bigger beating,or better take the most dangerous looking one out first.Shame i was the slowest runner as well!

Yeah, I had this buddy I used to live with, man he was short but he had those awesome bb genes for sure! I think he was around 5'6". I was a little jealous of that, but then again I wanted to be a little taller.
When I got the chance to meet Jay Cutler, I was like, nah, I'm good at 5'10.- Don't get caught up in all the hype. Just lift, eat and rest! -

I am very glad to be tall, even with the physical/orthopedic problems it can bring. I have had low back surgery and various other long bone/joint loading related injuries and pain. It is a rare bird who can be a real tall bodybuilder or powerlifter. Speaking generally, it is an area that favors the short guys. I get your point.
When I was coming up, I'd have traded my height for mass. Now, as an old guy who works for a living and lifts as a lifestyle, I'll take my height. But I get your point. Who knows, if I was 5'8", maybe I'd have met the Austrian Oak or trained alongside Dorian Yates, Casey Viator, etc. Who knows...Envy is ignorance. Imitation is suicide.
