23 graduated with a poverty major at 22 checking in. Starting at a community college again tomorrow brahs to work my way into a real major (cs, ee, accounting is what I'm considering). Living at home sucks but I'm hoping to have my life on track by the time I'm in my late 20s.
Brb I only need stats to graduate? Hell ya I'm picking this poverty major.
Brb college counselors saying pick any major you want, you'll get a job.
Brb my trig class starts tomorrow.

the only way youre going to make money in that field without a degree is personal training or owning your own facility. obviously owning your own gym requires a sh*load of upfront start up costs. personal trainers can potentially make good money, but even at its best its not consistent. brb trying to support a family and then 2 clients stop training with you and now youre stressing and trying to find new clients so you have a consistent income

not true. It's networking and building a resume.
If you want a management job, get leadership experience on your resume. Student body leadership position, club leadership position, internship in management etc.
If you want a good job in web dev, be the web apps guy for a club or two and look for an internship in that area, build your portfolio of work and network to find opportunities that aren't posted.
You need to be proactive and do everything you can to make yourself stand out from the competitionyolo

Haven't posted in a couple years, logged in just to give some insight.
I work as a train conductor currently making $28.00 p/hour. Amazing job. I get to travel the country and get amazing benefits (railroad retirement is one of the best pensions you can get, research it). I am just a few short credits away from my A.A. so I have no degree either. Best part is I can get promoted to locomotive engineer making up to $45.00 p/hr, and from then I can go into management which is salary.
The railroad is have A LOT of people retiring over the next few years so we will be hiring like crazy. It's a great time to apply.
Posted this in a rush on my phone do I aplogize for any grammar/spelling errors.Locomotive Engineer

quality post. never give up and never sell yourself short. i remember i went rock climbing once and my friend who was really good showed me what bouldering was. he just climbs up on the wall, cocks his legs and explodes up and over to this ledge in this impossible way. I tried it after him and slipped off. I'll always remember after i hit the ground he told me "just picture being up there, make it happen" sure enough that's all it took. believe that you can make it and stop shooting yourself in the foot by doing things you know won't help like wasting time and putting off studying because it isnt fun. took me a while to learn this some kids had it dialed in sophomore year of hs.
