Someone's bringing it over now. It's nothing extravagant but it always comes out good. Chicken thigh, diced eggplant and two red potatoes.
Yep, it's one of my friends who's been wanting to learn how to squat and deadlift from me for a while. I told her if she brought it to me I'd pay her bridge toll and let her workout w/me and even give her some of my food after we work out. (I work in a PT studio).
I always have a problem making steak that's to be eaten the next day. I like it rare and whenever I reheat it, it always comes out too dry and rubbery... even when i cook it below rare to accommodate the reheating.
lol, reminds me of this clip
The guy has a follow up video where he talks about this as a "negligent discharge".. then someone in the comments wrote, "I think you're father had a negligent discharge about 30 years ago" LOLOL

Totally with you on that. I was thinking more of pre workout supplements. When Craze came out, people were writing stuff like "It's better than Adderal" or "There must be something illegal in it because it made me high as a kite". Tried it, didn't get high at all, strong WTF.
Then people started raving about Detonate and how they had to remind themselves to eat because it's such strong appetite suppressant. Tried it, still hungry as fukk.
Either I don't get it, or they are full of $hit.Follow my 2018 competition prep here:

Rustled my own jimmies today when I became the official Gym Drama Queen and collapsed on the floor of the weight room. Awesome. Apparently I wasn't as recovered from my illness on Monday as I had thought, and some intense leg and back work did me in. FML.

it's kinda catchy, tho
i stopped a few months back, all pre workout stims. all of em. i sleep better, and function better. good for short term use, perhaps, but that's about it. i was getting headaches...and it seemed like with all things, you just need to keep taking more of something (pre workout stims) to get the same desired effects. nothing can beat consistent restful sleep, and a good diet. not to mention the cost...holy smokes, a lot of this stuff is pricey!
if rowyn is reading this, she used to tell me this early on when i was taking jack3d...and now, i can say to her...you were right, dear lady.

It was a valiant effort, lol. I think if I show up at the gym tomorrow they're going to break both my legs for me though, I've been instructed to stay home until Monday.
Mostly right now I'm just embarassed. It took 10 minutes and Snapple to get me off the floor

I always have guys asking what I take pre and post. Well, nothing. If i'm eating right I don't need anything "special" before I workout.
I can't do stims. I do not like the "amped" up feeling. Good music does more for me than stims.
And no matter the extra special gluco/sucro/creto/metro action of the PWO drink, I'd still rather be hungry enough to eat a steak and potato!
Srs??? I could pick you up 4 weeks post hernia operation. Tell those trainers to start lifting!Journal- One of the Ogres

At the gym yesterday, apparently this guy was in on the "are you a gym idiot" thread, because he seemed to have had enough time to watch my ENTIRE workout. I am SS and it was squat/press/row day. I add powerlifter's briefcase walks around the gym at the end just cause it feels great for me to do something till failure. Literally in the middle of one of my walks-headphones in, music blaring, weights in hands, mean/in pain look firmly placed on face-this guy steps in front on me. I thought very seriously about just stepping to the side, kneecapping the bastard with the plate in my hand and keeping on, but I stopped. He proceeds to tell me, first off, everything I had done in my workout, and then explain how it was all wrong for MY goals. He then proceeded to tell me about how I need to isolate to get a big upper body so that the ladies will be all over me (never had a problem with women personally, but ya know). I was already so dumbfounded by the chit he was saying that I literally pointed and laughed at him, very loudly when he told be that the power rack is only good for shrugs. A body building couple that I have been talking to heard my laughing and came over to check it out. I told them about his power rack theory...they just walked away and shook their heads. I put in my headphones, so that I couldn't hear anything else he would say, picked up my weights, stepped to the side, leaned in and said "you have pencil legs. Nothing you ever say to anyone will matter. If you EVER step in front of me again, this plate is hitting your balls, and imma keep walking." He had this look like someone just killed his puppy.
I'm back?

Pre workout supps have their place IMO, they do give a boost when you lag in energy. Coffee doesn't do much for me any more, I spent too many years drinking up to 5 coffees a day, I can drink it and go straight to bed. I know supps aren't magic pills, but when you read all these reviews on how a supp does miracles, I sort of wonder if we are even talking about the same product.

oh my, your new year is off to a bizarre start! as long as you're smilin...lol
@ sy...i agree, for short term or occasional use, pre work out stims can serve a purpose. i think that when you're say suffering from insomnia, it can be something people reach for, instead of getting to the root of what's causing the insomnia, (just to use an example)
as for me...i've come to realize...jimmy rustling is all in the mind. don't sweat the small stuff, peeps!

I just came to this conclusion too and cut all the stims. I've been noticing my sleep deteriorating and the headaches you mentioned too. This is a pretty recent change for me (2 weeks) but I'm already noticing better sleep and the headaches are going away. At this point, I've even cut out all coffee except for one cup in the morning. Can't really assess how my workouts are effected yet since I'm getting over a nasty virus now and dragging a bit anyway. But actually sleeping through the night has been awesome.

What rustles my jimmies MOST today:
When people disseminate false information just for mass effect. For example, the thread about pigs. Nobody thinks abusing animals is right. But, some of the footage in those videos is grossly misrepresenting what happens on farms. For example, sows in gestation crates. They're there so when they give birth they don't roll over and squish all the piglets, suffocating them to death. They aren't confined there for months on end, they're only there to give birth and nurse the piglets until they're developed enough to eat other food.
Agree or disagree with farm practices, not my judgement call. Just don't send out false information for the sole purpose of scaring people. I don't care if you disagree with the truth, but propaganda like that is infuriating.
I could go on for decades about this sort of thing....

Had an early morning conference call today, so I missed my usual early am workout . . . leg day. No problem--just go over during lunch and knock it out. Now I remember why I go so damn early!!! I get done with leg press and head over to do squats. BOTH racks are taken. The first one by a guy who's doing OHP with about 75 lbs--and "supersetting" with crunches on an exercise ball . . . all within the rack (because he has to anchor his feet on something). Second rack taken up by a guy doing shrugs with 135 lbs. Really??? You need a power cage for that????

The Golds Gym here in South Carolina is packed like crazy. Full of college students. Lots of eye candy but some people just waste their time and take up space in there. Can get really annoying when a lady is "using" the cable machine when i ask but yet she literally hasn't touched the thing in over 5 mins because she's talking to a friend.
