As a teen its easy to get caught up in all the brand names and flashy logos of supplements, but the most important thing especially at your age is good food and getting enough rest. The effectiveness of certain supplements on the market are debatable and still being researched, but whey has been proven time and time again as a quality protein source and great for a post work-out when on the go.

At 17 I'd focus on eating, get in a good post workout meal. Even at twice your age I try to get in a good meal with some healthy fats, complex carbs and 20-30g of protein after a workout if possible. If a full meal is out of the question, a good glass of milk, some cottage cheese, greek yogurt or a tuna sandwich always works
