Thought this was a good simple exercise that will help turbocharge simple blues type rock riffs. I like the first six notes phrasing and when played with alternate picking, the picking will reverse itself, in relation to the left hand, every three notes. A little harder than it looks for beginners.

I'm sure a lot of you have already seen these guys. This video came out around 2004 and at the time I remember getting a real kick out of it.
These guys are actually around today doing different things in the music scene.

Hey everyone,
I just uploaded this basic Minor Blues lesson (First Position) and I wanted to share it with everyone. It's my first video lesson and after watching I know I'll need to go into more detail. But I hope you guys can give me feedback on my teaching and video. Anyone have any suggestions for free video editing software?

I am looking for advice on recording Mics. Price range 0-$250. Looking to record vocals/acoustic guitar. Will be using recordings for playback of my playing/singing. Been doing research on google for a bit, but I would like to here what you guys think.

Beginner here, been playing on my acoustic for about 2 months
Ive got all the main open chords down and have recently started learning barre chords. Ive learned quite a lot of riffs/simple chords progressions from songs i like
My question is, what should I learn/focus on next?Bulking to 6'5''

I like a lot of classic rock, beatles, stones, etc. Thats most of the stuff ive been learning. I also have an old chitty behringer electric that ive been playing on too. So I dont limit myself to one genre/guitar/etc
I guess im just looking for some general guitar knowledge that can advance my skills. Out of those 3 you listed, id lean toward singer/songwriter except my singing voice is pretty badBulking to 6'5''

How do you guys balance guitar practice with work, lifting, responsibilities, etc.? I work until 5 and go to boxing immediate after, come home exhausted at around 7, cook my dinner and meals for the next day and finish at about 8:30, and get barely enough time to get ready for bed so I can sleep at least eight hours before waking up at 6(gotta stretch, eat, shower, get ready, etc.) before work at 8. Otherwise I'm tired as phuck the next day and have no energy. That's what my schedule looks like for about 3 times during the work week and then the other days I lift or work on other fitness goals instead of boxing. Don't like that feel of revolving around work and rushing home just to live my life
But I really would like to start learning the guitar and eventually write my own music someday because music is an extremely important part of my life too.

Drink more coffee in the afternoon. I am lucky to get 8, 6 hours is pretty regular.
My schedule is pretty similar to yours and it's worse in the summer when the lawn is growing like weeds. But I just sit down and strum a few notes to keep the familiarity. I am still a noob, but I'm making progress. I just keep my amp and guitar in my room next to my bed so it only takes a minute to get playing.
If I really want to get serious, I'll have to cut out more computer time instead. I also have weekends off, so that helps.★★★ A State of Trance Crew ★★★
