    Advice please

    I have to take prednesone for 16 days is that long enough for significant muscle breakdown?

    No, 16 days you'll be fine. It's more of a long term issue. I have not heard of the muscle breakdown part, but have often heard of it deteriorating bone density.
    Supplement a good diet: don't diet on supplements.

    Thanks for the reply I just started it and have been reading whatever I can. I read about the muscle breakdown but could never find any kind of timeline.

    It's only really a concern for those on it long term. With you being 27 and I assume a resistance trained athlete (you lift weights) your bone density should not suffer. Keep up on your diet and you should be fine. I'd also make sure to take a quality multi or calcium supplement if you do not get a lot of dairy just because it's better to be safe than sorry.

    I will def up the calcium bone density isn't something I want to take any risk with.
