Metal IPF knee sleeves vs SBD knee sleeves

Hey just wondering if anyone has any experience with the new metal ipf knee sleeves. They look similar to the SBD knee sleeves and the price is really appealing but I didn't know if they would hold up the same as SBD knee sleeves. Any help would be great! Thanks

SBD is excellent. Get the tight fit on the size chart. They will be a pain in the ass to get on for awhile but they break in a bit and still give tons of support and rebound. Far superior to any other sleeve that ive used.

I have the inzer sleeves and I like them. 55 bucks too.

I'll squat no sleeves at all before I pay almost 100 bucks for a pair. **** all that. I work minimum wage and go to school. A pair of SBD would be 1/3 of my paycheck

That's why I didn't know if I so go with medium for tight fit or large for standard fit.

I completely see where you are coming from. I just got a little extra cash and didn't know which to buy. Seems like everyone loves the SBD knee sleeves.

What knee sleeves have you already tried? You may also want to consider Tommy Kono sleeves which are 5mm neoprene and $40/pair. I have a pair that has lasted for 3+ years and they help with warmth and tendinitis. If you are looking for something to give you more 'rebound' then I would look for a pair of cloth sleeves or look at the Inzer sleeves.

You could actually get a pair of the TK sleeves for warmth and the Inzer for compression for the same price as one pair of SBDs.

If money is not a factor and you simply want really high quality neoprene sleeves then either Rehband blue (7mm) or SBD would both be good options.

How did you get TKs to last 3 years? I was hard-pressed to get 6 months out of them before super-glue was required.

TK's are ****ing garbage. If you squat with any kind of regularity and have a tight pair they will split beside the seam within a couple of months at best. Rehband type sleeves are better durability wise but they get soaked through quickly with sweat and lose alot of their support. The SBDs are thicker, longer, and keep most of their support and rebound even when worn for a couple of hours. They are designed for PL, rehbands are made for rehabilitation.

If you want more support, get a soft knee wrap like an inzer true black and just wrap it snugly instead of super tight. A multiply sleeve made of knee wrap material would be okay too.

SBD is super friggin ugly. No way.

Knee sleeve manufacturers really ought to start offering color customization.

Which size did you get? And were you wearing them inside out or with the sticky side in?

I originally bought the 'medium' since I am under 250 lbs but that pair did get torn apart after about a year (wearing them around once per week), and so for my next pair I picked up the Large. I usually wear them over under armor type leggings and sometimes wear them inside out which still provides a good amount of warmth but makes them a lot easier to put on and take off.

I had smalls for comps and mediums for training. I wore them just on my bare legs (I'm Australian, it's hot here) 2-3 times a week. They just never lasted. I use Titan sleeves for training now and SBDs for comps.

Makes sense, if you size them to be tight I do not think they would last very long.

Have you ever tried the Rehband blue 7mm's? And if so, how do you like the Titan and SBD sleeves in comparison? And do they also soak up sweat and eventually smell like death like the Rehbands? Someone should treat the material with an antimacrobial coating.

Have heard that the the Titans are a good sleeve for the price ($60 USD/pair).

Blue Rehband 7051's feel like tissue paper after 30 minutes. SBDs soak up sweat but somehow don't smell as bad. The titans are the same sleeve as the 7051 I believe.
