calorie dense, good source of fiber, complex carbs... easy to grind up and throw in your protein shake...

Yes oatmeal = oats, hence the oat. But quick oats are worse than old fashioned oats and old fashion oats are worse than steel cut oats... as far as nutritional value goes

quick oats is just oatmeal with sugar and other stuff, it's still the same sans the added stuff.

but old fashioned oats and steel cut have same nutrition value, steel cut is just better for digestion.

whole oats(not the tiny little packages of oats) would probly be a bit hard to chug lmao unless you are talking about quick oats which might be doable... if whole oats grind them up and drink them with a protein shake... makes it thicker and yummy

lol i don't think you want to that. either cook them or put them raw in a blender with milk with a banana or flavored protein powder. then you can't even taste it (if you blend it up good enough). it's like a milkshake. it's what i have for breakfast everyday, easy 700 calories (1 cup oats, 2 cups milk, 1 banana).

while were on the topic im just wondering how do you guys blend the oats properly, i find that they never end up small enoguh (just smaller chunks) and that they just sink to the bottom

they're already raw. it's up to you what you want to do with them/how you want to eat them.

to the guy who said about their protein content ... it's only like 5g a serving, it's not a lot. a lot of grains have that much protein for a cup. another reason to eat grains, nice little easy protein boosts, even if its a little.

1 cup of steel cut oats has about double the amount of carbs of 1 cup of old fashioned oats... this addition comes with double the fiber and more protein.

Quick oats don't need to have sugar added to them, I simply suggested them as the worst because they are further steamed and further pressed making them a much more processed food.

well, publix (grocery store chain) oatmeal, quaker oat meal, and those steel cut irisih brand all have the same nutritional fact info (except the non-steel cut ones are 1/2 cup for serving), including fiber and protein and such. i guess oatmeal is just oatmeal. lol

nah, what i think it is is that steel cut is just grinded up finer so it fits 1/4 cup. because i checked my container and it's 40g just like the one i linked. i think old fashioned/rolled oats are just as good as steel cut, except for digestion and i don't know if the fact that they go through some rolling process effects them.
    Fapping is the ultimate cardio.

Yeah I get ya, but i ment as far as 1 cup vs 1 cup steel cut is more calorie dense.. but then again that probly means that each serving is more expensive than the rolled oats serving.
