I think you can do them either way but I prefer to use a mixed grip. One with palms facing me and the other facing away from me.

I do palms facing forward but when i'm maxing I do a mixed grip.

when i'm doing them with my hands facing forward the pain in my palms is very strong end after that it hurts like hell!
when i'm doing them with hands facing my body it doesn't huirt and i can do heavyer weights ( i increased my deadlift weight by 30lb in a month!)
