    Weight lifting class

Alright, so I have this strength training class monday, wednesday, and friday from 8:00-8:50 a.m. I signed up for it because it is an easy couple of credits and you can pretty much do whatever you want for that 50 mins. The problem I seem to be having is that I have horrible workouts this early in the morning because of lack on energy. So do you think it would be in my best interest to use this class to maybe do cardio & abs, and do weight training later on in the day when I will have better energy. Would I be over-training? I usually tend to be more pumped up later on in the evening and I have killer workouts then.

The general consensus is that it is fine to do cardio and weight training on the same day as long as they are separated by a reasonable amount of time (6-8 hours).

I think it'd be fine to do cardio & what not but i wouldnt do abs more than 2 x week. Can u play any sports in that time...That would include exercise & cardio?

You can work out abs five times a week if you want. Abs and calves are dense muscles than can be worked alot more than other muscles without being over worked. There is no problem with doing abs 3 times a week, go for it.

    Thanks

Thanks for the input guys. I'm probably just going to use the class for cardio and abs. The main purpose for this is it will keep me motivated to actual do cardio and abs (in which I despise both of them) because I will have to get up and go to the gym to perform these exercises because my grade will depend on it. Thank again.
