    training my wife

My wife wants me to help her lose 30 lbs. by June. She's very sedentary. She also has a goal to run a 5k in June. I've kinda got ideas on getting started with 3 days of running /cardio and 2 days of beginner full body routines. I'm worried she'll get discouraged with my methods or won't accept my pushing her. I'm wondering if anybody here has any experiences or advice on the situation. We have 3 kids that take up most of our time and attention. So we'll be doing this at a YMCA. I plan on hitting a few days of Zumba and group fitness to keep her interested.

I ran my first 5k this past June. It was the warrior dash. I found the couch to 5k app worked great. I found having 2 kids at home makes it hard sometimes to eat healthy all the time. Try and introduce new healthy foods to the kids and it might help her want to eat cleaner to drop the weight she wants to. My husband pushes me at the gym and we get on each other's nerves but I also find myself competing with him and trying to prove that I can do things. Since you go to the YMCA swim laps. It is the best exercise and its fun. Maybe find a water aerobics class too so she can stay motivated. Goals are what keeps me motivated. Good luck! And remember to be supportive and praise her for all her accomplishments then she will feel like you are more on her side and not this bowman guy pushing her best of luck to you both.

My wife was the same and wouldnt take my advice. When I got her a personal trainer who told her the exact same things she listened and dropped 20% BF in 5 months.
