I have 2 friends who are convinced that 1 hr cardio per day + lifting light weight for 12-15 reps, a diet well under maintenance and eating mostly carbs is the only healthy way. They also have misconceptions about protein powders, saying they are unhealthy and don't actually help build muscle but bloat them with water (wtf.) They also assume that any person of substantial mass is unhealthy/using steroids. They also disagree that abs should be treated like any other muscle and insist on doing 100 rep and **** like that.(very srs) They won't accept anything from here (has the word bodybuilding in it) and make me /rage. What do misc?

If it's the word bodybuilding their scarred of show them some fitness model routines that have lower rep ranges and gradually they should come round to your way of thinking.

The image of modern bodybuilders doesn't exactly do much for lifting, to be fair. If the word 'bodybuilding' terrifies them as much as it does, maybe show them some amateur powerlifting/strongman/weightlifting with people from the lighter weight classes, they might actually think "hey that's pretty cool, and he's not massively bigger than I am!" and decide to give it a go.
If they still think lifting is "bad", show them football players, rugby players, fighters, etc, all "normal" sport players lifting as a big part of their training. If neither work, your friends are probably just a bit stupid. (srs)
