I am a caffeine junkie relying on Lo-Carb Monster and Zero Carb Rockstar for the fix. I have been told that if I drink to much it could hinder my weight loss. I drink on average of 3-5 cans a day of either. I drink about 32oz of water on top of those. The can sizes for both are 16oz with an occasional 24oz thrown in. I have tried coffee and tea, but both tear my stomach up.
Thanks for the help.

I know what your saying and a lot of people tell me that, but, it is almost as if my body is used to taking that much in. I can and have drank a can about 20 minutes before bed and crashed right out.

Thanks for all the replies. I have been tested for sleep apnea before and I do not have it. Something else that is shocking, and this is no bullsh*t, I had blood work done about 2 weeks ago and all was normal with the exception of a minor raise in cholesterol that my Doc said didn't concern him enough to put me on meds. This is a lot of reason why I am overhauling my diet. I want to stop the raise before it gets worse.

I've quite caffeine before (moderate/low intake now) and it can be painful to go cold turkey. The headaches are brutal. Working yourself down over the course of 2 weeks or so would make it more bearable. Do you never have heart fluttering/palpitations at that intake level? Seems like alot. Good luck!

toward the end of 2009, I was drinking a couple of low carb monsters a day. In January I gave them up and started a cut. I noticed I slept better and lost 7 lbs last month. I reintroduced on a day this month and thus far it hasn't effected my weight loss. They do dehydrate you so you need to drink more. All the artificial sweeteners are what concern me the most. I'll let you know if my weight loss begins to slow down later in the month.

I don't know about those, but I do know that Sugarfree Redbull is only 10 calories a can. Other health concerns aside, as long as you can fit them into your diet calorie-wise it shouldn't affect your weight loss.
I don't think its worth it just for caffeine though when you could just take straight caffeine pillsLast edited by sangreal; 02-04-2010 at 03:43 PM.

"Obsessed" is just a word the lazy use to describe the dedicated.

Only "broscientists" use the term "broscience." I'm ok with being wrong, but calling "broscience" on me just doesn't cut it. Back up your claims.

I hope these two stories change you ways ?
1. A teenager used to drink 5 ? 7 redbull every day, after a year or so she started to black out, and this has now been going on for years. It has changed her life, she can?t drive or operate any sort of machinery, think about the ramifications of this if this were to happen to you?
2. Another teenager did the same and now has an irregular heart beat and she will just get a racing heart and get hot flushes and have to sit down and do nothing for half a hour.
Wanna screw you life, drink 5 energy drinks a day?
Energy drinks should be limited to ?once in a while?, you will be amazed how much more energy you have when you now hooked on stimulants as all they do is hype you up and then you come down and crash and burn and just want more, just like a junkie getting the next fix?
EDIT: In regards to actual fat loss, it should have no affect. But what is more important.....?Last edited by Dominikm; 02-04-2010 at 04:36 PM.

Wait, are you only drinking 32 ounces of water a day? Or did i misread that?
If you're trying to lose weight I would think you need to drop that other junk. I drink in excess of 150 ounces of water every day. Also if i get tired at work i'll drink some coffee, it use to tear up my stomach too but I got use to it and now I'm fine.Big Russ Weight Loss::
