I did wide grip pullups yesterday, and my lats are so freaking sore today (granted I'm smaller than you, but still...)

as they have all said. pullups are key. jump up to a pullup so that you start at the top of the movement and then just do negatives. Do those until you can do a real pullup.

    This.

Drop the weight and do the strictest form you can.

I might do the pullup negatives. Say that I do lat pull downs, bent over rows and negative pullups. reps/sets? I figure ill do the negative until failure.

Before you worry about that, work on your form. You'll be amazed at how much you feel it in your lats if you really lower the weight and concentrate on form.

At the point your at, you don't need to worry too much about reps; as long as you really stress your muscles you will grow. I aim for 8 really solid reps though.

Also, for lat pull downs grip the bar with your thumb on the outside, it'll put more stress on your lats and less on your bi's

i have to admit i barely feel any lat workouts in my lats... pullups I feel in my arms, same with rows. yet, i still have pretty good lats.

so, **** it, it's working even if you dont feel it.

    Squat 345x1...goal 405x1
Deadlift 405x1 (lost grip an inch away from lockout)...goal 455x1
    Pronated pullups BWx9...goal BWx15
    Dips BWx25...goal BWx30
EZ bar wall curls 110x6...goal 125x6

    no..**looks around, ** maybe...
I do 300 over the course of a week, usually only 100 in a day. Takes about 6-7 sets on pullups, for chins its 4-5.

I don't use supplements anymore....I dropped that log and everything in it when I found out I may have a chance to play d1 football for va tech next year.

    Thanks guys!

if you wanna rape them, try this - reverse crip chin ups and then after do some dumbell pull overs - I did them and thats the ONLY TIME my lats have ever hurt - I used to do lat pull downs and wide crip, nothing... do 4 sets of 12-8 reps. and db pull overs 12 12 12

Only time my lats get sore is when I do a 2-3 second hang at the bottom rep of every pullup. When I start doing my chins/pullups quicker and not pausing as much my lats arent sore
