    Individual Differences

Many of the posts on the boards, when referring to arms, state that you need many different exercises for the arms. Ive found that I've only ever needed one exercise for biceps (barbell curls), one for triceps (skull crushers or dips), and one for forearms (farmers walks). I have reasonably big arms - 16.75", but Ive never needed high volume training, because my arms get worked out in benchpress, pull ups etc.

Obviously some people benefit more from higher volume training, but for beginners it's surely better to stick with one or two basic exercises?

I believe that a few simple exercises would make a good workout routine for a while with a beginner. However, if looking to compete, I would suggest that you change your routine every several weeks...

It would be nice though to have a competition chizzled body even if you don't plan on it.
