Sadly I always have the same goal and never ever reach it. I want to be 190lbs, roughly 8-10% BF, but I don't think it is realistic for me. I have gotten to 197 but was very "smooth" and if I would have dropped bf I would probably be 180l - 185lbs.
I don't have any PR's I use the weight to help sculpt my physique, its just a tool, like food to get my result. On the list for Bannukah

Don't get me wrong I have some goal like deadlifting 5 plates and squatting 4 plates, but those are not PR's that is just what I have done before and I would like to do it again. Right now I am deadlifting 4 plates and squatting 2 plates and a quarter, so I think it is doable, but sh!t get harder every year

Yeah, I understand. Like you said earlier, the weight is just a variable to manage load intensity. I organize my lifts by exercise, target rep range, target reps in reserve, number of sets, and then use a weight that gets me within those driving principles. Whatever the weight is, it is. Adding weight becomes more of a measure of progress than a means of progress, with quality, hard sets being the means. Just a different mindset than when I first started even if it looks pretty similar in practice.

Understood, one of the things I believe has kept me in he game for so long is that I alternate from heavy, to medium, to light. Been training like this since like the early 90s LOL. I do 2 weeks heavy, two weeks medium and then 2 weeks light and start all over again.
Obviously I mix it up from here and there i.e. I did a 5x5 for several months, then did a push/pull/legs another several months, but for the most part I always revert back to my heavy, medium light routine. I think it has saved my joints/tendons/ligaments over the years. On the list for Bannukah
