    Can't Do Pull-ups - Negatives vs. Assisted

As the title alludes to, I can't do wide grip pull ups but need to have this exercise in my repertoire. Should I work negatives of this exercise, or use the assisted machine at my gym to get the best results towards doing these.

    Thanks!

I did a mixture. I found negatives didn't do much for me, I got a resistance band and found using that for assisted pull-ups worked great. I can now do 10-12 quite comfortably without and can do some very low weighted work but not for many reps.
    Go big or go home!

    I also suggest performing both.
Bodybuilding is 60% training and 50% diet. Yes that adds up to 110%, because that's what you should be giving it. Change the inside, and the physique will follow.

those should help. also you may want to look into Supine Rows as well. They are like an inverted bodyweight row for your mid-back, lats, and rear delts.

The supine row thought never even crossed my mind. Thanks to all!

I had shoulder surgery so I was off of em a bit. At my peak I was up to 3 sets of 5. I was never able to do the wide-gripped ones though.
