Hey guys. I was wondering of momentum plays a big role in weihgt lifting because obviosly u stress your muscles more when you push or pull in a smooth and calm way, but when you give it your all and you just push aas hard as you can its much easier b.c of the momentum. So does momentum realy a big factor in weightlifting?

I would say yes. Like curls are pretty easy to cheat on, by arching your back, and swinging the weight up, but if you use JUST your biceps, your biceps will get all the punishment, and more muscle cells will be broken down in your bicep. Momentum and leverage are not for lifting weights, except for the cheat reps, but don't worry about those just yet.

Well, to be honest, the momentum is what holds most bodybuilders down. they get into the form of swinging weight and don't use the proper form. Think about it, if it feels easy to move the weight (Swinging it or throwing it) then you're being cheated. If you're benching 205 for example, and you're slowing it down and going through the motions slowly and concentrating on the form and intensity of every movement, you're doing more than benching 235 dropping it to your chest, then using your legs to drive it up. Momentum, when not under control, is the worst thing to happen to people new to the gym.
Hate is a powerful word; I, in turn, am a powerful man, borne from it. Your fear is my strength, your insecurity, my pride. All i have ever known is loathing... You toss aside my teachings to preach of love, which you know nothing of?! I know love... Let me show you the way. Hate... Hate was my first love.
The demons are sleepless and immaterial, death is at hand, and I am weak. Lord, help me; do not let Thy creature perish, for Thou carest for me in my misery.
